So as we all know, the G1 episodes are chock full of inconsistencies and animation errors, etc etc....but this was an odd one I thought. At the beginning of The Secret of Omega Supreme, there is a scene of Megatron at a computer saying some lines, but standing next to him was..... Sideswipe? Is that correct?
Yeah, this has been mentioned in the errors thread. I have to assume that someone (person "A") was thinking of Starscream, but couldn't think of his name. So person "A" said to person "B": "Put the red and white guy next to Megatron". So person B looked through the character models and just assumed that he was talking about Sideswipe.
You know what, it was probably the storyboard said "SS" next to the drawing of the vague pencilled robot, and the artist drew in the first character he found whose initials those were.
When the angle of this scene changes, you can see Soundwave in that spot instead, so rather than "Starscream/SS," the storyboard probably had a rough figure with a shoulder cannon, and the animator working off it guessed wrong.
