maybe they could have a line of legion toys that add the chip in for use. Keep it a sub-line with some interesting redecos to make it worth it to the consumer

Personally I think Skylanders are cool. Bought them for my sons and they absolutely love it. I would buy Transformer ones just so I could play with my sons and then have them display them when not in use. I think it would be a huge hit.

I enjoy High Moon Studios' Transformers Video Games, but the Concept behind Skylanders just doesn't appeal to me as a Gamer OR as a Collector. While I admit, the "Collect them all" idea works for the Pokemon Games, "Collect them all to progress in the game or get an advantage in Multiplayer" Just doesn't seem right to me. IMO, you buy Transformer toys to play with them, enjoy them, and admire their various Aesthetics. Buying them to use their various abilities in a videogame or on a website just seems like cheating because it basically says to your child " Pay to win"

 

Isn't the goal of these companies to make money? Sell more stuff = make more money. It's not about life lessons.

 

I could not and would not support this if Activision or High Moon were involved.

Yeah there was a similar idea before, that the FOC deluxes came with free DLC codes to play 'em in-game. Or something.

Which gives me an idea, it would be awesome to play as Rumble or Frenzy in MP. They could have some made-up vehicle mode.
And Ravage and Laserbeak could be vehicle modes.

 

My son and I enjoy Skylanders. I'm willing to try it out if it happens.

If Hasbro will attempt at something like this, I think they will do it as part of the new movie. They would probably use Bot Shots.

 

it could work with stuff like the titanium 3" line, but may hinder mainline toys.
