I just had this interesting idea. Remember the toys that were canceled.or just not released in past series like Murader Megatron,Hot Shot,Armour Optimus in Animated, the toyline from Transtech, etc. What if Hasbro and Takara made a line that features characters that were going to made into toys but never did explaining thier bios and a little note on why they didn't get released. It can be catered to collectors.

It'd be a little short lived. Anyways, Hasbro might've thrown away the cancelled toys after they were cancelled.

Businesses don't throw away ideas, they may put them on the shelf or in storage but, they don't throw them away. The reason being is because they already have money invested in the project and in case some time down the line they ever do decide to do something with them, they will have them and the money they wasted on they won't be a total waste and they won't have to spend the money twice to do the work twice, if they decided to finally do the figure later on.

But they do throw away prototypes on occasion, or auction them off at places like Sotheby's.

I wouldn't mind seeing some Transtech character designs pop up in Prime or Generations (Depth Charge, Immorticon, Silverbolt, and Starscream could be used as new characters)

Just throw them into classics' current incarnation.

I was referring to the research and development for it. The molds, the 3D renders and things along those lines..

The items they produced from the R&D may be sold off but not the R&D it's self.

Of Course there are always exceptions.

Nope, just doesn't seem right, I don't want HasTak to do that. It's like your best friend getting you a present from a dumpster

As awesome as this would be, it simply wont happen. It would be amazing to see the likes of Marauder Megatron, Titaniums Cosmos, Universe Toxitron, and a lot of Transtech. As ridiculously unlikely as it would be, is it hypothetically possible for any of them to be released in the Generations/Classics line?

I feel like a line like this would be more of something a third party would do, and they would probably do it pretty well id imagine

And it would only cost five-times the price.
    What a bargain!

Personally, I'd love to see a series aimed at collectors, something along the line of the Platinum Omega that's coming out, that would utilize cancelled models.
Unfortunately, this would probably never happen, unless Hasbro came up with some way to recoup the costs of the molds.
Then again, how many of the original prototypes are still in company possession? I remember reading that the Transtech Cheetor mold was lost in transit, and the Starscream mold was 'given to a friend'.

lost in transit? lol someone probably found that not knowing how much it was worth and threw it away lol , and im assuming your not a third party person? i agree third party is exspensive but i love the figures reason i said third party is this would be exactly something aimed at collectors they would market too.
