Im unsure if any of you know about Michigans ongoing crisis in its economy but figured since it is general I wanted to share with you all. So I live in romulus Michigan by the Wayne Metropolitan Airport. Now since 2000 they have been doing alot of upgrades to the airport, emphasis on A L O T! They added 2 new terminals I dont know one of them the other is the McNamara terminal, including several runways. But now they are planning even more! They want something called the Metropolis and it is nothing but entertainments, a race track and other commercial and entertaining comidities. Excuse my spelling on that word! Sinc eour exconomy is horrible no one here can really put their house up on the market, and since the creation of the apartments on our street "Brandt rd" it has lowered 1/3 of our valure just because of our value by surroundings. So now the airport wants to put in a new runway and the proposal will knowck our over 3,500 citizens from there homes and an overal property loss of 115, million dollars. But everyone is celebrating because now that they want to take out these homes, everyone can get the hell out of here! Since the forclosure scares we have been having which BTW is up to 50% forclosure rates for wayne county, this is a godsend for us! But what stumps me is our mayor "Alan Lambert" wants the airport not to expand? Since the airport takes up much or romulus, Lansing and the WayneCounty authority say they have the appropriate jurisdiction to overide the city. We realy want the airport to expand, we need it!!! But I feel differently then our mayor so Im going to the city council and voicing my my 17 year old oppinion, maybe they will sort of understand me.
