I have been pondering for a little while now about who if anyone should be the token Flying Autobot Character in Transformers Prime since it's a universe that seems to draw in points from lots of place it seems to broaden the choices beyond simply the G1 cartoon era. as demonstrated by Skyquake's presence.

Not to mention 2 of the main Decepticon cast and one or 2 of the generics are also ground based this seems to suggest that there's an argument to give flight as a option to some of the Autobots.

There seems to be a few ways of looking at it.

You can have someone really big that other characters can actually fit inside of.

Like : Jetfire (Unicron Trilogy style), Sky Lynx, Sky Carry (I refuse to call him Gary), Galaxy Shuttle

Something with real firepower that can fight Megatron, Starscream and Aerialcons.

Treadshot, Star Saber, Wingsaber, Jetfire/Skyfire (G1 style),

Or someone who's quite weak who's an eye in the sky but who's not going to have much chance against anyone other than the Aerial-Eradicons.

There's also Helicopter Characters who could be used for ground attack or recon but who'd not be much use in an aerial fight against Decepticon heavy hitters;

Powerglide, Cosmos,

If anyone's got any thoughts preference or suggestions please add them.

 

What about Silverbolt, he would be awesome and aside from the Beast Wars/Machines version, his character hasn't been seen since G1.

Yep!! Silverbolt..or it would be amazing if they could have enough aerialbots to form Superion...but I guess that would really be a stretch for this series.

I'd rather have Wheeljack make some jet thrusters for himself. I always preferred Autobots as cars, with the only flyers being ex-cons or somebody with special gadgets like many Optimus Primes.

 

I would like Cosmos, always had a soft spot for the silly fat lug with the indecipherable accent.

Well, either that, or fucking huge, old man Jetfire asskicker.

 

Probably large like Jetfire.

 

Personally, I think Springer would be a good choice, as it brings some energy and enthusiasm that I feel the bots lack at the moment.

Failing that, however, I think Highbrow would be a great addition, he'd bring some smug attitude to the bots, while also being airborn, and intelligent. He could often correct Ratchet, much to ratchet's shagrin

 

All I have to say, Gents.

 

I would love to see Cosmos given an update, though any flying Autobot would be appreciated. Would be cool to see them make the first flying TFP Autobot a completely brand new character.

Cosmos. I like the idea of an Autobot turning into a UFO-type craft.

 

Im not too fond of autobot flyers, but if they did have one then I think it should be a medium sized plane, no helicopters.

 

Silverbolt. Kinda like his Beast Wars personality. He will try to start something up with Airachnid. He gets shut down. Hard. Possibly clobbered extra hard by Breakdown.

 

I want a huge, aft-kicking flyer who has an almost unhealthy love for humans.

And at the same time I want a little tiny jet that hates everyone.

Choices, choices.  

 

I vote for this, and have him be partnered with Kup!

 

Starsaber please. Just use the red plane and call him saber for now, give him the "star" upgrade later on. Bonus points if he has a brainmaster who can interact with with humans
