Loved Fievel Goes West the best. (And I STILL have it on VHS!)

I enjoyed this movie as kid and was recently cleaning the garage and found a container my mom brought up a while back and an old Fievel stuffed animal was in side and in decent condition too.

    Lord I'm old...

I watched my VHS many times and for a while constantly wore a wide-brimmed hat I borrowed from some friends so I could pretend to be Fievel.

I miss Dom DeLuise as well. "We're a duo, a duo..."

Oh man, I completely forgot this movie existed. I saw it in the theater way back in the day but that was pretty much it; never watched it on VHS and never bothered with the sequel.

Anything by Don Bluth is pure gold. Yes, even Titan A.E.

The sequel was a good movie, but didn't really live up to the emotion of the original, IMO. But it was a lot better than most sequels to Bluth films.

I loved this and the sequel Fivel goes West growing up. But I recently rewatched both and have to say, the original has fantastic animation, but is actually a pretty bad film. The characters are mostly crap, the songs are awful (especially there are no cats in America) and stuff happens because the plot says so, without really feeling natural or organic.
Fivel goes West is basically the same movie, just much better in sense of structure and story telling (but it's still illogical in parts, well as a story, not the concept), but it has better characters, less dumb songs and is just much more fun all round.

Don't forget this! This started the trend of music videos for big released cartoon movies! They did it before Disney!

Of course secret of the sword and transformers the movie beat it to the punch but the songs were not big hits. This was!
