Sad (but not surprised) to not see a thread here for it. This game (made by the same masterminds behind the Penumbra trilogy) is what horror games are meant to be. You are truly and utterly helpless, your only method of defense being to flee and hide from the unspeakable horrors that stalk you, darkness your only refuge...and your worst nightmare, as prolonged exposure to the shadows further breaks your mind and causes you to lose your grip on reality, your vision blurs, your movements slow, you begin to hallucinate. Amnesia truly is horror gaming at its finest. Seriously, check it out: Amnesia: The Dark Descent Watch some videos, read some dev blogs, try the newly released demo. Amnesia releases on the 8th of September (that's less than a week from now). As a HUGE fan of Frictional Games' past releases (Penumbra: Overture, Black Plague, and Requiem), a HUGE fan of HP Lovecraft, hell a HUGE fan of horror in general I cannot recommend this game enough. If you are a PC gamer or horror fan at all, you owe it to yourself. Seriously, 4 times through the demo and the final sequence still gets my heart racing.
On the 7th, the live podcast Dead Pixel Live is going to have an interview with the developers. Amnesia: The Dark Descent Interview on 9/7
I have not played this game, and I do not intend to, for my reaction to it will be a lot like this guy's: YouTube - Holy shit, Amnesia WHAT THE FUUUCK
