Quebec parents say paramedic refused to speak English | Sympatico.ca News I mean like really, the kid is ill and sick. And we complain cause their not a lot of medical staff, I wonder why. Stupid Quebec law since that stupid Pauline Marois won the Federal Elections.
since this isn't in the states it doesn't affect me. *shrugs* by the way, the title makes zero sense.
No kidding. Not regarding the politics of this matter, that paramedic was a jerk. It's not that he couldn't speak English, it's that he could and refused to. IT says they all spoke English fine afterward so he was just being unreasonable.
just giving an honest opinion. What happens in other countries is none of my business. We got enough issues here in the US. why worry about something else in another country? Isn't there already enough drama going around here, that we can't do anything about?
OK, so there was a language issue. I'm sure that will be worked out. Where the hell does ammunition enter the picture? Was there a Ma Deuce mounted on that ambulance? Or has the zombie invasion begun in Quebec?
This happens a lot here. One of these days someone will get hurt during these tense moments... by then hopefully English Canada would finally get some balls and intervene.
Well that goes without saying. You could post a news story from Arizona, and it has nothing to do with me as I live in Seattle. "How it affects you" isn't the point. This wasn't a "news you should know" news post, clearly a "dude's being a major douche" news post. No one has to pander what they post to what does and does affect you. By the way, little inconsequential things affect you every day, whether or not you know it. Growing tensions between Quebec and the rest of Canada sure will affect a lot when it comes to American economics and overall foreign relations. And yeah, this title... "assistance" or "aid" should probably go there. I don't expect to get much ammunition from EMTs.
I'd be more shocked an appalled if this shit was a new occurrence. I've flat out told a guy "look, I know you speak english, save us both some trouble." after butchering his language in a drunken haze. It was amazing how quickly he remembered a parler anglais.
If it's none of your business, then why post? It obviously wasn't directed at you, so why'd you feel the need to chime in with non-information? And the rest of the world is well aware of US issues. Even though they're none of our business.
What do you mean by "around here"? Since this is a website, not a city in the USA. People visit it from all over the world, not just the USA. Jesus, some people's kids.
I've always heard if you're an American visiting Montreal and speaking english it is not all bad. Most French-Canadians living in Montreal don't care if you speak english or french, again that is what I've heard. But Quebec City, I heard it is a beautiful place, but if you speak english there, watch out!!! One day I'm planning to try out Rosetta Stone so I can learn to speak french. I play fantasy hockey and I deal with French-Canadians.
thats what I thought too, I'm a former paramedic and I was like WHY does the ambulance even HAVE aamunition let alone GIVE it out. I'm not Canadian but I've heard that certain parts of Canada (the ones where they speak both French and English) has about a bit of a language dominance problem as California does with English and Spanish. Regardless lesgally they have to give aid. Even a a froerm paramedic if I see someone in need or a car accident I always stop to render aid if needed. While I was a paramedic even when off duty if I didn't do these things I would lose my license and be subject to criminal prosecution.
when I refer to around here I am thus referring to the United States We got enough fucked up things going on around here than to worry about somebody refusing to speak english. :/
