as far as I remember we only had renders of the upcoming Battle Call toys, right? Please correct me when I am wrong. I was browsing Amazon.de to look for some new Cyberverse Warrior listings and I found the two:

According to the writeups at Comicbook.com, Officer Optimus Prime is a Walmart exclusive in the US while Bumblebee is general retail. Different rules apply to different countries, of course.

I think only the big Optimus and Bumblebee are that tall. The smaller Trooper class guys like Wildwheel look to be about the same size as Ultra class.

Wildwheel is a great concept in bot mode cursed with a bland alt-mode. The upside, I guess, is that alt and those accessories seem like a setup to come over to Generations using the Siege Chromia mold.

So I'll make that trade, and hopefully he draws enough attention they develop a more unique alt. He seems the type who'd turn in to a motorcycle or horse. Like, seriously, give this guy a horse alt yesterday.

 

The packaging costs more than the toy to produce.
Hasbro just can't stop putting voice chips and speakers in $5 toys and charging $50 for them.

The voice chip is $.15 and the speaker is $.25 max.

Pricing is so absurd. I needed to buy mini superglue tubes to send out with a repair kit for a product. The best price I could get for a wholesale price per tube in the USA was $.62. I found a Chinese seller that sold me 200 mini tubes for $15 including shipping from China. If I paid $15 for 200 tubes, how much did the US distributor pay for buying thousands?

When you buy a piece of crap like these toys, all you are paying for is expanded margin. Not quality.

 

I'm so starved for new characters, I'll probably pick up Meteorfire and Wildwheel to add to my armies -even if the engineering on these guys isn't up to par.

 

No prices yet, I see. But given the prices that go with the energon armor ones, I expect these will be super expensive too. I\'ll likely wait for half a year until every shop just discounts them, they are already doing that with older Cyberverse stuff. These at least are pretty articulated enough, even if it does seem their heads do not rotate.

 

I kind of want the little Bumblebee to act as a secret agent of Unicron.

I don't think I've ever seen that Soundwave helmet on Optimus before either. I'm still not sure I'm clear on the gimmick concept, or how well it works, as I see the mention of voice activation. However, the price is going to keep me away and I suspect a lot of others. $50 and $25 are pretty expensive pricepoints for what they are, so I'll be waiting for those inevitable sales.

 

So is wildwheel a bot or a con cause his chest says one thing and the box says another.

Its a shame his alt mode is so rubbish considering the great concept for a character. Meteorfire suffers the same way except his alt mode is great just poorly executed in toy form
