Well, Siege Mirage’s alt mode was so bad I skipped him....

And hopefully not a gigantic wall holding up his spoiler

and yet, none of them have been particularly good representations of the original form of the character (even though Classics is an awesome mold)

 

Could be photoshop, or a custom. But with the new head and the timing being what it is, seems legit to me.

Darn leakers don't let us have any surprises.

 

I'm not that impressed by this head. The whole figure feels like a custom, strictly looking to emulate the 1997 version (without the mutant mask) and not doing anything new. Hoping the real promo pics are much more impressive or this will be sold off like the TR Tidal Wave!

 

I really don\'t like this two-pack thing... I missed out on getting earth mode Ironhide and Prowl for my G1 team because of that. I\'m not spending $100 for two $20 figures. Sorry. Just not. I hope this one isn\'t as ridiculously priced.

 

Past the initial excitement I'm not terribly happy with another earth mode G1 figure being exclusive to an amazon 2 pack. Not that non-exclusives are that easy to find these days.

Hope it is a good figure though, as a F1 fan. Wasn't too thrilled with the Seige one.

 

Hope we see mirage and sideswipe pictures soon!

 

The head looks too smooth looking. It could be just the bad picture making it out to be smoother then it actually is though so we'll know eventually.

 

I’m kind of annoyed I have to buy Mirage to get Grimlock, but I’m sure I won’t have any problems flipping him afterwards.

The other one of these is BW Skywarp, right? That’s a nice easy skip without the rest of Magnaboss.

 

Unless there is a Cheetor retool as Lio Jr and Rhinox as Santon.

 

Listings suggest Skywarps been swapped out for Night Prowler.

 

Oh, that’s definitely a thing. Hopefully they don’t go as accurate to the original deco as the leaked/probably fake Grimlock suggests because that’s going to look pretty rough.

If they were swapping Skywarp out I’d have much rather seen Predacon Rhinox instead, but what are you going to do?

 

Absurd aftermarket prices can and will happen to exclusives whether they're in multi-packs or not. The original price for the Ironhide/Prowl set was $40, the same as buying 2 individual Deluxes.

 

I don't particularly expect him to have any clear plastic at all, let alone on a major part like his legs:

(Yes, there's that tiny windscreen, but that looks like the kind of part that'd be molded as a separate piece if they include it at all.)

There's plenty they could do. At a minimum, give him an open canopy, new wheels, and new front and rear wings, but hopefully they'll retool all the vehicle mode parts to remove the futuristic details and give him more realistic vents and panel lines as well as the faux chest to match the new vehicle parts.

I really hope they figured out something to fix the awful rear spoiler. Really he should've gotten an all new mold because the entire rear of the Siege vehicle mode aft of the cockpit is just so messy and multiple third parties have proven that it's quite possible to make a Mirage with a more G1-accurate vehicle mode and transformation, but I'm not expecting that since I don't think they'd make a new mold an exclusive like this.

 

Trying to read that "description" was painful.

 

At the very least, leakers could take better photos. It's kinda dumb that, at a time where we all carry phones that have cameras capable of taking HD quality photos, almost every photo of a yet-to-be-revealed Transformer looks like it was taken with an old camera.

Also, I agree with leakers not letting us have any surprises. I'd argue that's why previous toy reveal events have been so underwhelming. It's no coincidence that the figures that didn't get leaked via photos (The Ark Titan, Tracks, Rhinox, and Scorponok) were the ones that seemed to generate the most hype on here during the Hasbro Pulse Fanfest.

 

You're probably right. I guess I just have the Classics and Siege ones on the mind.

Hey, we finally get a Grimlock with a sword!  

 

If anyone just wants the Grimlock, but not the Mirage, I'll gladly take him off your hands.

My Siege Mirage while transforming it this last time decided to break on me...which is why I'm not a huge fan of making huge parts of a transforming robot in translucent plastic. I'm hoping this new Mirage will not have translucent plastic other than his vehicle mode window.

 

I am taking that Grimlock "prototype" with a grain of salt. It was posted on Twitter since April 20th.
