They managed to fuck up continuity AND not kill off Aunt May even though she outlived her usefulness as a character around issue 100.

Usually they only do one or the other.

Its still lame and this no remembering thing is getting very lame.

First it is the Sentry, and then Spider-man.

Seriously. Hurry up and come up with some other stupid universe altering way to fuck up things(This should be easy Marvel) and kill Aunt May, make Peter remeber MJ and have them get back together, fucking have the kid that should have been here YEARS ago and continue from there. Peter is not a playboy. He doesn't need to be screwing all the other Spider-Women for it to be intresting(though cool). Jeez Marvel.

I just want to see Peter finally get it on with Black Cat. Every geek boy needs the outgoing hot chick, not the stupid forenzic cop lady.

I could care less about what they say screwed up the wedding at this point. My big central question is more about: how can they say everything over the past 20 years of Spidey history "still happened" and yet the changes they've made not be in conflict? And I mean an explanation beyond "it's magic".

That "explanation" doesn't explain anything though. You can't say Aunt May's house burned down yet it apparently didn't after you sprinkle some devil magic into the story. You can't have it both ways. Either it happened or it didn't.

That's the problem. Company Break down: Dc has long term plans that aren't always executed well, and Marvel has short term plans that creates continuity problems, which they then ignore. While Marvel is selling better right now, it's only a matter of time before readers get tired of the constant "stunts" and drop some books due their confusion on where the character stands now.(Take Spider-man as an example) Dc readers will lose several on some cross overs, but they still have a status quo to go back to. DC seems to be trying to keep track of things(though not always successful), while Marvel seems to be "Okay created a problem huh? well we will fix it if we feel like it". At least that's the vibe I feel I am getting from the two companies.

Marvel created not 1 but 2 fantastic opportunities to fix their Spiderman revel issue.

One was in the final Slott issue of She-Hulk. There is another Universe where people can travel to the marvel 616 on vacation and become whatever the 616 counterpart is. The Jen Walters from that universe came and became She-Hulk. This is how they explained that She-Hulk slept with Juggernaut in the Austin run of Uncanny. They could have had Peter simply come out and explain that a Spiderman from another unverse outed themselves and have the 2 stand next to each other.

On that same note, they could have alwasy gone with a metamorph and have him morph into Spidey and have Pete stand there.

The other way out was i nAvengers Initiative. Explain that the Iron Spider Suit gave Peter Powers while the real Spidey was MIA. And since the real Spidey wanted to be registered, Peter took his place.

But no, we went with magic.

Marvel has had ample opportunities, but choose to use the stupid ones instead., For instance Loki still owes peter a favor and they could have used him instead of Mephisto, and that would have gone over a lot better. JMS even wrote the arc where this happened with Loki. Marvel is just at this point playing the quick stunt game. Their so busy trying to shock readers to generate sales that it keeps coming back to bite them when it doesn't live up to their hype. It generates quick sales, but causes problems they will eventually have to deal with. The problem is their attitude for the last few years is, it isn't our problem, it's the reader for not realizing how good this story was.

Exactly, and the readers are validating this attitude. I was shocked how many bought OMD and then continued to buy BND even though they hate what is being done. Marvel will continue to give us this crap if the readers continue to buy it. And Marvel knows that it is crap otherwise they wouldn't have made Amazing tri-monthly. Its like watching Idiocracy except in real life.

Actually it's not how many bought OMD or BND, it's how many retailer pre purchaced them. How many actually sold and how this will affect future sales remains to be seen. It just looks better on the financial documents they show to their investors, what happens in the future months remains to be seen. Amazing is naturally going to have better sales a month it comes out 3 times more often.

Too f**king true. That was my first reaction after One More Day ended. "Felicia had BETTER pick up the rebound."
