    I've been getting back into astronomy lately. Loved it as a kid, oddly enough. Most kids have their dinosaur phase, I dug stars. [/nerd] This is pretty neat.

    They really do. I am constantly amazed by some, then strangely underwhelmed yet fascinated by others.

    I mean, the sheer size is eye opening for sure, but there it is. A big yellow ball. No solar flares, discoloration. Just one big uniform looking ball.

    Bizarre...a lot of photoshop and camera filters had to be used to make the sun an even yellow, yellow in the first place, and actually have a shadow on itself...but apparently it's real? Neat I guess.

    I've seen tons of photos of the sun that look like this. They pretty much erase the flames and stuff so that they can get a clear look.
