Forgive me if this has already been discussed (I can't imagine it hasn't!) but a cursory search didn't get me far, so... I wondered if anyone would be picking up the Takara Thundertron redeco AM-28 Leo Prime? I saw some earlier pictures (of "Victory Leo") with a red-bladed version of Thundertron's sword but AM-28 looks like it (obviously) just comes with an Arms Micron. I'd really rather hoped they'd give Leo a new head but it looks like a straight-up repaint. I've not got Thundertron and probably won't get more than one of the mould but I definitely feel more affinity for the character of Lio Convoy than the leader of the Star Seekers, so I'm very tempted. If he had a new head it'd be an easy purchase. (If he had the awesome Thundertron sword, doubly so!)
No new head is kind of a bummer, but he does have an awesome Moon Micron! (Although it does kinda raise the question, couldn't they have reused an old Micron and gave him a new head? )
I'm getting it. Dr Wu might do a new head for him anyway. If that doesn't happen, I'm fine with his current head.
It is the superior deco, but the lack of a new head puts me off paying import. And Thundertron's head became a little more tolerable with that concept art, so I might just pick up the original.
This actually does look nice. Maybe not a deco I would buy, but it would be interesting to see in-person. Makes me wonder how Hasbro will choose to repaint the mold. Thundertron is cool, and I actually almost bought him last night...but I couldn't pull the trigger...his Star Seeker statis means I don't really have a spot I could put him in my collection...I'm kinda hoping Hasbro gives us an Autobot or Maximal out of the mold.
Just spitballing here, but can PRiD Optimus's head fit on the Thundertron mold? (I don't have either figure) If the head swap works, and if you can get an Optimus fairly cheap from some Christmas sale, that could be an option.
This is a really good question and would give me a reason to buy that shitty RiD mould of OP. Can someone who owns Thundertron and RiD Optimus or better yet FE Optimus verify this? Thanks.
