Uh... I thought Hot Rod belonged to futuristic cars that don't exist at all

While the DOME Zero was a prototype car, it was built and raced.

That applies to Classics, but not G1, Animated, or Masterpiece...

True but, it's the closest thing -Japan- has to an Hotrod vehicle mode. Hell, I think it might be the closest thing to Hotrod's altmode in the first place; with the exception of the Lamborghini Countach.

Edit: Granted, neither are as curvy or have as pronounced a spoiler or exposed engine. You work with what you've got lol.

That was kinda the point all along. The guy I quoted first said Hot Rod 'belongs' to American cars, but his toys have either been made up cars or Japanese. True, in IDW and Alternators he was a Dodge Viper and a Ford GT, but those are hardly his most memorable roles.

So far Alternity has used Japanese cars that are currently available to public. If it can be an older model I'd love Honda NSX....

Ah, my apologies. I skimmed over the first couple of pages so, I guess I missed that post. Either way, you're right on. Though, I do love the idea of Hotrod as a GT40 (Ford GT, whatever; same car lol)

On topic: What Japanese car currently available to the public would make a suitable Hotrod?

I'm pretty happy with the Alternators figure.

However, an Alternity fig does indeed seem like a no-brainer. There aren't a whole lot of modern cars out these days that would look good with flames on them. It'd almost have to be a classic car, but that seems to not be in the cards for the Alternity line.

It seems like redoing his Alternators mode would be unlikely. Tough call on what it would be.

I'd be all over that like white on rice. I'm still of the opinion that Rodimus needs more love.

Alt/BT used Prime also, and no one seems to mind that we got him in the Alternity line.

I'm not a fan of deluxe sized transformers costing the same as a 1:24 TF when that's what I'd rather have for $50.

hey squad! If you calculate the rise of inflation from the time bts came out to the present time, alternity figures are fairly priced.

Any Alternity would be good but I'm getting impatient - give us the car bros so I get 3 new TFs at the same time. In fact, I'd take Alternity versions of them as Subaru's in a heartbeat. BT Smokescreen is still one of the best looking Transformers of all time IMO. Probably THE BEST.
