I've been thinking about this a bit:

We already have it confirmed that we are getting "Meister" again this year in the bubble packaging, but I find it odd that Hasbro would go to the trouble/level of detail to put stripe decos on this miniature figure and not redeco the Alternators version. What do you guys think?

If they were to put the stripe on him, correct the vanity plate, and give him a new ALT box #, I'd buy him in an INSTANT...:rock

Would be pretty cool if Hasbro did redeco the Alt's paintjob.:thumb

I noticed this too. It's interesting to note that their paint apps are a nearly dead-on reproduction of the reprolabels paint apps. Maybe we'll get a painted-on version of that scheme?

Yeah, if that happens, I'm buying him in a drop-dead second as well.

Perhaps they can call it Alternator Jazz and get away with it because it doesn't transform into a car? And hence no confusion with any Honda Jazz (what is now sold as the Honda Fit in the US) toy cars?

Double ditto on that one. The Alt doesn't have to be "Jazz", but them stripeys would just make my day/month/unspecified time period.

Well I am getting the Meister no matter what so I can apply the Jazz decals on it. But it'll save me a lot of trouble if they can do it for me. :D

According to Ichikawa, the Alternator was named "Meister" because Hasbro was still hoping to get the license from Porsche at that time.

Of course, that clashes with Archer claiming that the toy was named "Meister" because he (Archer) thought that "Autobot someone" sounds stupid... which in turn clashes with Autobot Hound, Autobot Tracks and Autobot Skids. :)

I actually hope that there are no designs/stickers/additional paint. I have some ideas for the rerelease of Meister and additional apps would ruin them.

they could add the stripe & change the plate to Jazz, just like Shockwave & Ravage had shortened versions of their proper names on their plates, while using the modern version on the toy box itself.

Given the $$ of the repro labels and my own long history of fraking up the application of decals, I'd buy another Meister with this paint scheme in a second.

if they do release him with the Jazz-like decals or paint deco, just PM me. I'll happily trade you that version for my all-white one. It's one of my least favorite alts because the all-white deco is so bland.

That would be nice, but if they did I wish they would use the spoiler from Shockblast in white on it as well. The stickers look out of place without the spoiler.

Well, I'm not trying to hyjack my own thread nor plug my own customs, but this is what I did to modify my own Meister. I know this isn't the customs section, but I think it's applicable to this thread :D

i'm guessing doing this for the titaniums is just a little fan nod from the Hasbro team...

Yup, as long as it has the stripes, a new name, plate and # I would definitely buy him. A remolded head to look a LITTLE more like Jazz would more than complete the deal.

Pre-applied aps, yes. Included stickers, no.

Bland Meister? I just gave him Shocky's roof and hood. Jazz gets a purple top, and Shockwave looks good with his tech/engine details showing. And without a roof. Alright, it sucks.

Out of curiosity, why is the new box number so important? Is it an MISB thing?
