Movie Ratchet is a modified hummer IIRC. (I think) Hasbro said at SDCC that larger Alternators are going to be few and far between. They may be waiting to see how the North American version of MP Starscream does first.

 

I fully realize that in the original toy line Rumble was red and Frenzy was blue, but considering Rumble was blue throughout the entire animated series AND comic, they should have made this figure blue as well. Fans would have accepted it, especially since most of us have already menatally switched the cassette identities years ago to stay in line with the cartoons & comics. But overall I think the homage to the original robot form is still pretty cool.

I haven't bought any Decepticon Alternators yet, but I might do so with Rumble & Ravage *only* if I know there will be a Laserbeak as well. Can't only have 2 out of the main 3, that would drive me nuts.

PS: I drive a 2007 Civic Si so I am very happy to finally see what MY car could potentially turn into, hehe.

 

I don't believe there is going to be a North American version of MP Starscream. Sounds like it's an exclusive to Takara just as Ultra Magnus & the upcoming Prime /w trailer are.

 

Oh yes. This rocks. It will proudly be added to the shelf.

 

But MP Starscream is an entirely new mold. A north american release has not yet been announced, but would make a LOT of sense. It's practically required if they want to recoup the mold development costs. Hell, put it in anime colors and Japanese fans will import it from the US!

As for Rumble, I'm very excited to see the car mode pic. But I need to see more robot mode pics. I'm also not feeling the colors on the face.

Is this the first time we have seen full color photos of an alternator before any prototype photos? Makes me a little nervous that he may only exist in those photos.

Ah, Rumble doesn't need hands, he just needs big stompy things to mess crap up with. Let's face it, he's hardly likely to pick up a pen, open a door, play guitar or anything, is he? STOMPY THINGS!

 

i could've sworn that alternators rumble was originally suppose to be the new honda civic type-r (not si). the type-r has a much better looking design.. here are some pics:






from a business standpoint, hasbro probably switched the designs over to the si instead since that is the car available in america, not the type-r. =|

 

Most likely. I just hope the new packaging will be "return-friendly", so that when you open your... oh, we'll say Mirage... and discover that half the chrome on the back wheel has been scraped off and you couldn't see it because it was behind the illustration, that you can re-pack the toy and take it back to the store.

Anyway, if more Alts are released (gotta say "if" anymore), I'm hoping for a blue Frenzy repaint...

I am so very excited about a Decepticon that's not a repaint of an Autobot. Rumble and Ravage (kitty not battle) really makes me happy about the future of Alternators. Come on Hasbro repaint this alt to blue and give us Frenzy too.
