I just got my Dragstrip in the mail today, from Bills Toys :thumb

I broke out my Windcharger and stood them next to each other, and I definitely like Dragstrip better!

First of all, his head is sweet! It definitely has a G1 Megatron feel to it, but its not him..but it makes him look like someone ya don't wanna mess with. The transformation is the same as windchargers...ie almost the same as Tracks/Ravage/Swerve, but not exactly. The legs are NOT stiff, in fact, everything moves smoothly. none of the joints are too loose on him, but are actually quite snug. His color-scheme is nearly identical to that of Sunstreaker, so I'm curious to see them next to each other once Sunstreaker actually comes out. One change in transformation is due to the fact that Dragstrip has a spoiler, whereas Windcharger does not. It simply splits in two, and folds outwards so when it becomes his waist, the two parts go from front-to-back on his sides. It looks nice.

The only thing I would knock Dragstrip for is simply the same thing that hinders Windcharger, and that is that he has no gun barrel. I'm not terribly worried about it though, cause like Windcharger, I'm buying a replica barrel that is easy to find just about anywhere on the net, like Transrepro or Ebay. I give Dragstrip two thumbs up, or a 4.5 outta 5, the .5 for no barrel, and a really really lame name! :p  I'll put up some cool pictures to add to this tomorrow, but I have to work really early first!

    Andy

    Finally got a pic!

Decepticharge, Thrust as i call him, is pretty sweet. I thought Windchager was pretty boring... just another red sports car, and a car that IMO doesn't look good in red. But Thrust looks so much better with the yellow/black racing deco.

The head looks great. Slightly Megatronish, but it's yellow and black which is why I call him Thrust. Since BW II Thrust was a yello and black repaint of the Megatron flipchanger jet. Duh. :D

I like the little spoiler transformation. Simple, but effective.

The lack of a gun barrel is a bit dissappointing, though. Didn't bother me on Windcharger, but Thrust is a Decepticon! He needs the firepower! I'm gonna have to pick a repro up... where's the best and cheapest place?

On a side note: Now we have 5 Decepticon Alts. 2 are black. 2 are yellow. When do we get another purple one to go along with SHOCKWAVE?

Oooo I can't wait to get mine either this weekend or early next week (already shipped and arrived from Bills but I shipped to an address in the US and he won't be bringing it up until the weekend).

BTW I have 2 barrels made by Viagra Prime for sale if anyone is interested, they are painted black.

i just got him recently myself and hes sweet.

fun transformation and i didnt even need the instruction. and he actually makes yellow look sinister.

    i call him...deceptidragstripercharge. :D

and y'all gotta stop the thrust/megatron reference. his head designed after g1 windcharger already, that has been established. its even published in the BT book.

I don't care who the head mold was intended to be... to me it comes across as vaguely Megatronish. And since he's yellow there's my Thrust. Besides... I don't like Drag Strip. Sounds stupid, IMO.

The only complaint I have with the figure is the pencil neck that he's got. I had a repro barrel waiting for my Drag Strip for months so I can't bitch about the lack of a barrel. That neck gets me, though.

Hey guys. I highly recommend the repro barrel from Ken of transrepro. The barrel is high quality and you can't tell the difference between his and the BT Overdrive version.

yep I'm gettin mine from Transrepro as well, just like I did for Windcharger :ev:  as far as the neck, yeah it is disappointing, but as I said earlier, its nowhere near as bad as it is on windcharger due to the different head sculpt, so I can live with it...

I've had mine for a few months, and I like him. The head and coloring is nicer than Windcharger. He's missing some robot mode paint apps, but not enough to spoil him. The faux racing decals look great, and combined with the hard top make a much nicer looking car than Windcharger.

The head really puts him over the top. Very cool sculpt.

Mine has pretty loose shoulders, but I like him anyway. He's a middle of the road alt for me. Not as fantastic as the Mustangs or Corvettes, but still nice, more so than the Vipers or Jeeps.

I call him Drag Strip, but was thinking of just calling him decepticharge. In my Alt universe, he'd be kind of a Decepticon Zoom Zoom, a stolen drone Windcharger body, programmed as a body guard by Shockwave.

according to hasbro's bio I think it's pretty obvious that he's meant to represent Drag strip.

The downside is that his Japanese counterpart is wildrider. Living in japan or the US you need to import one to get a full set of stunticons...assumign they ever make breakdown and motormaster.

    *sighs happily* My namesake :D

I've had Dragstrip for months now too. I think this figure owns Windcharger in every possible way. The color scheme is pretty nice. The downside of this figure is the damn arms, you can't move them!

Though I say the head resembles BW Megatron and the face to G1 Megs.

I got mine today and wow he is cool. For being a nobody he sure looks great. Yellow and black really suit this mould. I can't see the head being Windcharger, looks too evil even though I know it was suppose to be him. His joints are even tighter than my Windcharger's and that can be a bother at some parts but his has really tight ankles, a problem fixed from Windcharger. And if you got a Decepticharge from the Prowl wave you'll notice, no more pencil neck! I compared mine to the one in Seibertrons gallery, defenitely no pencil neck on mine. I heard people say before that he could only turn his head side to side, mine can move down and slightly upwards. Perhaps the delay of Decepticharge was actually to fix the problem.

Man, I want this guy. I like the S200 mold, and he'll balance out my Alt forces. All I can find is Grimlock and Swerve. :cry

wow, that's a shocking improvement - and on a Hasbro release too! Hope that carries over to all of them in this release wave.

    You mean this?
That's the closest thing to a Hasbro bio I know of.

Decepticharge sounds cool, I can't wait to get one myself. Glad they fixed the pencil neck too!

The bio for Decepticharge then goes on to say: "With his awesome scanner, he is equipped to check out over 100 express-line customers in under 30 astroseconds."

     scanner....sheesh.
