People are name dropping Unicron and the Quintessons as possible characters that may be employing Lockdown to hunt down. But I am thinking there might be a more obvious answer... it is possible it could be just faction-less Cybertronians who see the Autobots and Decipticons as war criminals. Thoughts?




btw, I am reading TF G2 Comics.  

 

What if it's.. a group of Autobots that are mad at Optimus for letting Cybertron be destroyed.

 

It could be all of the above or because they blew up cybertron but we won't know until the movie cones out or the book

 

I think it's a big threat.Whoever it is it's not going to end up well

 

What if it’s a band of Autobots with Ultra Magnus as the leader and person who hired lockdown to get prime and try him for his war crimes against Cybertron. Ultra Magnus has a strong military back ground and his allegiances lie with protecting his plant and its people and with prime been responsible for its destruction. This could be the main reason behind lockdown pursuit of prime

 

It would be a cool idea except the part where Ultra Magnus hires Lockdown.I like to think that whoever hired Lockdown is an evil,powerful force who didn't like that the cybertronians's interaction with humans caused the loss of order and equlibrium in the Universe

 

To be truthful I'd be very surprised if they went with rogue Autobots revenge for cybertrons destruction idea. It's set up for the quints, who in turn answer to Unicron. its a logical route to take the trilogy as they could show the quints in five and Unicron in six.

 

yeah.. all of the theories in this thread are WAY out there.

granted, they could be true.. but i'm going to make an educated guess and say that they're probably not.

it just doesn't make any sense.. there is just way too much history to draw from for it simply mad autobots.

like most people have been saying, if they really want to please the fans and wow audiences.. unicron should probably be involved in this next trilogy.

but bay said that the ship or something on lockdowns ship holds some clues.. if it were angry autobots.. what would the clues be?

and if it was unicron and/or the quintessons.. what would the clues be?

I am grasping at straws here but a clue could be lockdowns ship itself could be descended directly from unicron. As with the original cartoon movie. Unicron did give galvatron a ship, perhaps this could be the same theory
That unicron give lock down the ship and it has some sort of connection with its master and hence why the ship is important in the film.

 

Something tells me even after the film we wont be much the wiser on overall plot

Maybe some quints work as jailers on his ship

 

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even say who it is. They might be leaving it wide open for the next director just in case MB leaves.
