This same thing happened with Siege lol, they gave Thundercracker Starscream's smiling face by accident. 30 years later and they're still mixing these guys up lol

 

It\'s not Siege first off all, it\'s Earthrise, and also, it\'s no that bad but however wierd, maybe they planned a another face accsesorie, I don\'t know, all I can say, it\'s weird.

 

I believe it\'s a different chin space between chin guard and nose is different

His forehead is grey instead of black. Looks more like a QC error or a botched custom than an actual varient.

 

maybe read the article. Siege Starscream is used as an example as different head but it’s referred to as Earthrise Starscream

 

Funnily enough the example they used turned out to be bogus. Someone contacted Hasbro's customer support and they confirmed that they didn't have a pinned varient. Wave 3 Starscream is different though, as the peg size was changed so that it wouldn't fall out if you looked at it funny, along with the insignia being the G1 logo and not the Bayverse Decepticon one.

 

If it does get used for a Coronation, Greyed-out starscream, then OP may have a one-if-a-kind figure, so long as Deadscream has a different colour scheme on the head.

 

Considering how G1 accurate Optimus is, I'm suprised it hasn't been planned repainted to death already like the Siege molds. Sleep Convoy, Black Convoy, Clear Convoy etc.

No problem. The head is casted out of blue plastic, with black, silver and red painted on.

 

It would make a ton of sense here. They are producing earthrise anyway and saving the parts for their next version.

35th anniversary of the movie release next year, it wouldn't surprise me to see something awesome like a galvatron starscream pack someone else mentioned.
