Looks great. He's BIG, very impressive. Can't wait for him to come out, since I want him, and so we can move on to something else. Yeah, instead they went for the incredibly unusual and highly original hood-chest and trunk for legs design. It's a shame such a cool design isn't used in Transformers more often.
It's funny. As much as I love the traditional Prime look, I like getting a different look for him, too. I like Arm Prime's look, too. I also like that the super mode's head looked nothing like any previous Prime. It's false cab fronts that really irk me. I haven't seen anything that looks like he's going to have articultaion problems, either. We just haven't seen anybody try to pose him, yet.
I like it, I want it, I'll get it. I must say however, given the fact that Hasbro wanted it to be someone else, but Takara insisted for their sake... and then promptly cancelled it: Hasbro so needs to tell Takara "you owe me one!" Andy
I dont mean to sound like im complaining, but Hasbro shouldnt just slap Prime on every other figure just cause it sells more toys. Its like how Wolverine is overused by Marvel. Also, it doesnt seem like they gave it any more thought than "A Dodge Ram is a truck....and so is Optimus Prime, yaaaaay!"
I'm starting to wonder... the inevitable repaint, who would it even be? At that size would they dare throw something like Motormaster if it's a Decepticon or Trailbreaker if it's an Autobot? For how big he is it seems like Hasbro would make the mold more special, hence the Leader symbol on Optimus... They wouldn't do Megatron, Prime and Megs in the same mold twists the brain a little too much... Logically I dont see what they'd do with him other than Nemesis Prime
I dunno I don't mind having prime in alternators. I felt it was inevitable, and come on its not like we are getting 3 primes in the alternator line. If we do get more than one version of prime in alternators I think we can rest assured this will be the ONLY one we get for a while. I mean alternators isn't exactly a mainline like cybertron so this line won't be plagued with "wolverine/snake eyes syndrome"
When it comes to a black repaint surely Trailbreaker would sell better than just a straight "evil Prime" repaint?
Just out of interest, is that mold going to fit inside a Binaltech box?? If not, could this be one of the reasons why Ginrai is (rumoured to be) cancelled?
I like the RAM mold, but it really should have been GEARS. He was an old Dodge Power Wagon after all. Not to be rude or get off topic. But MP Pime is NO WHERE near alternator quality. He's not even half as detailed in vehicle mode as G1 Prime is. I think his truck mode is awful.
Well, from what I understand... the Dodge Ram only comes in Red, Black or Silver... so that really limits repaint potential. Red is Prime. So that leaves us with black or silver. Black could be Nemesis Prime, but I really don't know what they could do with a silver one... possibly Magnus, but I don't think so.
I really hope the black repaint, if they go that route, isn't a Black Convoy/Scourge character. I'd like it to be Trailbreaker, but I think to make it different enough from Prime, they would have to remold the legs to make them less "Optimus," in addition to the obvious new head mold.
