Found these in a Wal-Mart in Orlando this afternoon. At first I thought it was the case reported here: Transformers: Alt-Modes Wave 2 Found At US Retail - Transformers News - TFW2005 But after a second glance, this assortment was different, consisting of Hound, Bluestreak, Sideswipe, Silver Prime, and repeats of BB, Cliffjumper, Megatron and Starscream. Oddly, the top of the packaging lists this as "Series 2". Down the street, at the Target, I found the assortment listed above, containing Acid Storm, Sunstorm, etc, and found it was listed as "Series 1." Perhaps they are renumbering the sets for normal mass retail, seeing as the actual first set never showed up at Wal-Mart, Target, etc? Also changed, there's no longer the little "dot" on the box next to the included character, but the hole in the box is still present, and it's easy enough to see into to know which character you're getting.
I saw these at my Walmart and bought two of them the other day, both turned out to be Silver Prime. I looked in the hole but couldn't see anything, assumed the inner packages were just dark colored. I didn't realize it was anything semi-special, I just assumed my Walmart was getting them late or something. :O I'll probably have to pick up at least one more (hopefully not another Prime...) when I can. With my store's low amount of TF stuff available lately, I feel these are likely to fly off the shelves. :/
I think "Series" is being confused with "Wave", as Series 1 (2016) had two waves, while Series 2 (2017) so far has one wave, and could have more waves. Series One - 2016 - - - Wave 1 - Megatron (new) - Optimus Prime (new) - Starscream (new) - Prowl (new) - Ultra Magnus (new) - Skywarp (redeco) - Thundercracker (redeco) - Nemesis Prime (redeco) - - - Wave 2 - Bumblebee (new) - Cliffjumper (redeco) - Sunstorm (redeco) - Acidstorm (redeco) - Smokescreen (redeco) (re-release - Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream) Series Two - 2017 - - - Wave 1 - Autobot Hound (new) - Sideswipe (new) - Silver Optimus Prime (redeco) - Bluestreak (redeco) (re-release - Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Megatron, Starscream)
