    I created a similar thread to this over in the Toy Discussion forum the other day, so i thought i'd get one going here for all the 3P Alt Modes.

    The focus of this thread is the Alt Modes and all of the design detail that goes into them.

    At last.... Some alt-mode love...
    A lot of collectors give more importance to robot mode... I do the opposite! :D

    Jaegertron probably has the most bad ass jet mode of any transformer ever.

    It's like if Batmans Batwing and a Tron jet collided. Shame such a gorgeous design was brought down by poor tolerances.

    Utopia re-imagined Metroplexes alt mode in exactly the way I was hoping a company would some day, fucking love how much cooler they made it by slimming it down, giving it treads and having the robot bits hide so much more nicely. It would feel right at home in Macross or Gundam as a mobile fortress.

    And he came with all them awesome little assembly platform doodads which really added a tonne of nifty detail to his runway ramps.

    Four of Quantrons alt modes were specific sci fi references:

    Overheat; a Tron Light Cycle, Celeritas; the Mach6 from SpeedRacer, Blindfire; the VicViper from Gradius, Metalstorm; a Battlecruiser from Starcraft.

    Plenty of MP alts that look "nice" but I tend to find most to be quite dull. Chug stuff however continues to amaze me with all the cool nods companies make to various things.

    Me personally I just can't do that! I will just transform them back and forth just for the heck of it. It's part of the fun to me atleast. :D
