Hey everyone! At the risk of seeming like I'm spamming or showing off my stuff, I'd like to introduce you to a tool I've made for the Allspark.com boards. I've waited on sharing it because I'm always uneasy running around showing off my stuff, but hopefully this is appropriate and somebody will find it fun! Try it out now at Allspark Virtual Toy Box Current features include: -Draggable, scaled images (images are in scale to one another, 100 pixels=1inch) -Multiple sizing modes: Normal (no individual image resize), Perspective (pseudo-perspective scaling based on position in the screen), Free Play (scale individual images as you wish) -Multiple backgrounds -Different poses for many figures -Figure search -Sharing links -and more! Discuss and enjoy!
That's a pretty cool little app you whipped up there. Because it looks like you put a good bit of time into this I'm going to bump this over the Radicons General Discussion, just in case someone has questions about it or wants to share programming or layout ideas.
I saw this awhile ago over there. Its a great idea, and I think a lot of fans will make use of it. I really like the way the scale is set up. Awesome work.
I really appreciate that! I'm working towards a more database-driven version that will make it easier for people to upload their own figures and photos...hopefully end of this year for that version. @Venksta - Thanks! Whenever I get some gumption, there's gonna be another scaling mode for real-life scaling which should be fun for lots of people too.
Unfortunately, not with this current version. Do you mean to rotate the image, or like a figure turn-around?
The images are hi-res 2d photos. We remove the backgrounds in photoshop and then scale them to 100 pixels per inch. That's already a lot of work, and 3-d turnarounds would be even more time-intensive for not a whole lot more value. So I'd love to do it, but it's not practical. The app is programmed in pure Javascript and runs in most of the modern browsers. It's meant to function a bit like TFU.info with an interactive component, and was made in response to that timeless question: so what does figure x look like with figure y?
When I saw your example pic, I thought this application would let you change the colors of figure limbs. You should add this feature in the future. I like the idea of comparing figure scales. Seems like a helpful tool. Using the alternators as a reference with their alt modes being 1:24, I could see where you can figure out a fairly close match to pick figures for reshells and such.
