They actually molded a "peg" onto divebomb's shoulder for his arm to lock into, its a big improvement over the previous releases.

Picked him up today. Great figure. I loved Downshift, and the paint scheme on Big Daddy is worth the purchase. Nice and tight, too.

Glad I was able to find him. He rocks!

First off, your entire post was my experience with the figure in a nutshell. Never got Downshift, so it was all new, and all awesome.

As for the head mod, I did it with nothing more than a screwdriver and a hobby knife.

No... I completely missed you posting that, unless you're Squall42080 in disguise. If that is the case, I'm going to your house to play with your Animated stuff. :D
Squall texted me from Walmart saying how they had the stuff and he opened a case to buy and it had 9 figures in it and that he had to open two cases to get both Grindcores he needed. He also posted it in the PA sightings thread (that I linked to)
Want to elaborate? I might want to do it to Downshift and Big Daddy sometime. They don't like having to turn their whole body to look to the side.

Yeah, I knew about that. I was more wondering how Peaugh got it to work with a screwdriver and hobby knife.

Just got Big Daddy and kinda caved on Jolt (couldn't find Grindcore yet)

Big Daddy is pretty much every bit as good as Downshift with a bolder (though I wouldn't say 'better') color scheme. The black, silver, and orange are quite striking, though the orange head with silver eyes and a purple faceplate is a true eyesore. I can only fault it so much, as the toy as a whole is an excellent homage to the Micromaster with a cult following. (don't ask me why. I wasn't reading the comic back then.)

Well, the screwdriver was just to get him apart. The rest of the cuts can be made with a hobby/exacto knife. It's EASIER with a dremel/drill, but just as doable with a simple hobby knife.

it's because his name is Big Daddy and he turns into a pimpmobile, not because of his personality

Got mine and I must say, I think it is better than Downshift, aesthetics wise. With Downshift, I always thought to myself:"Note to self:wait for inevitable Wheeljack repaint, or why is this not Wheeljack?". I look at Big Daddy and I don't question it at all, it doesn't need to be Wheeljack, its all good as Big Daddy.

I pretty much assumed that, but kinda hoped there was a little more to it.

A minor mod adds waist articulation as well. Unscrew the waist, file down the parts that hinder swiveling, and reassemble. I think you have to leave a screw out as well.

Got mine yesterday and he is beeyotifull!

Just wish he could move his waist and neck WITHOUT a mod, I'd break him if I tried anything of that nature, ah well.

It's not JUST unscrewing the waist, you have to pop a pin out to get to the screw that you leave out. It works though, I just did it to mine :)

Am I known for being quick? And I don't mean quick to reply. :D
    Thirded.
That makes me sad. I might have to try the mods on Downshift first since I don't really care about him any more.

Yeah, same here. I actually have an extra Downshift that my son no longer wants, so, I'll probably try the fixes on him and get any mistakes out of the way.

And I got a nice variable speed Dremel for Christmas :D

I mean, with a name like Pimp, err, Big Daddy, you need to pull off pimpin' poses!
