And it seems our days of having Transformers video games might be over for some time...

Now all we have are mobile games.

 

That’s depressing.

 

What happens now is a mystery 

 

Or another company has a chance because Activision has been like the Sony pictures was with Spider-Man

 

I still see TF: Devastation on my Library, and have the option to install it.

Wouldn't mind if there was a sequel to Devastation... but alas.

I was thinking of getting WfC and FoC at some point, if only to have access on my future PCs at any time... guess not....

Really is a lame practice... Deal with an IP is over? No more digital distribution. Why? Because all parties want a cut of any potential sales. Pretty much the only reason I can think of...

My chance to play Ultra Magnus in a game will forever elude me. That said, I wouldn't mind if a dev known for solid 3D action games like Capcom or Namco got the license.

Welp, here's hoping Telltale eventually gets the rights to Transformers. Would love to see a game take place in the IDWverse or a brand new continuity and make tough choices like in Tales From the Borderlands or The Walking Dead.

 

I don't know how many people would go for TT's 20th reskin of their TWD games. I'd much rather kill hordes of Decepticons.

 

Maybe we can actually get some good Transformers games again now.

WFC the game was great, FOC was ok. Everything that followed was meh (Devastation was fun but limited).

This is so a woefully mishandled franchise at media level.

 

I think it is long overdue that someone start writing good stories for Transformers. Say what you will about TT using the same style over and over but their storytelling ability is top notch.

 

There was Beast Wars...though yeah, the stories are mostly mediocre.

 

While it sucks that they're no longer available in digital.

On the other side, it gives me hopes for some company to produce the TF games other than Activision, AV it's such an ocean of mediocrity, with a few good thins.

 

Beast Wars was great but it ended in 1999.

TFA was decent, TFP has so much potential but got really toothless when it came to making tough storyline decisions. This new Machinima series is hot garbage etc, etc, etc.

By all means let's get some action games but let's get other games too that aren't F2P mobile games.

 

Not surprising at all. Too bad we won't get a Devastation sequel any time soon, it seems. Personally, I'd love more games in the style of WFC and FOC but it'll never happen at this rate. Devastation was a bit too basic and grindy for my liking (it was still fun and all but yeah).

The only Transformers mobile game worth a damn is G1 Awakening but it seems that'll never be updated for 64-bit platforms now so it's as good as dead on modern devices, and it hasn't aged tremendously well anyway.

It's a shame but I don't think Transformers games have ever sold particularly well, which is especially a shame considering that some of them are great - the Armada game was great for its time, even the first movie game was pretty fun, and heck, the ROTF game was pretty good too. The Animated game was decent, WFC and FOC are excellent, and Devastation is also a good game. But it seems it's a franchise doomed to failure or, at best, mediocrity when it comes to video games.

so lets get another developer involved so we can get a transformer video game that isnt some cheap mobile game novelity

 

I know this most likely won’t be liked by a lot of people, but I really really REALLY want a Transformers JRPG.

Have it be set after similar events to The Movie. Optimus Prime died so Hot Rod could use the Matrix to become Rodimus Prime and defeat Unicron. Now, a Rodimus who has lost himself starts seeing visions of the deceased Optimus leading him somewhere. So Rodimus gets together a group of other Autobots pilots the Lost Light to the stars. Each of them searching for who they are, Rodimus deep down believing that reviving Optimus is the key to solving all his issues. There are others met along the way, The Scavengers, DJD, and even Ghost Starscream. Call it The Lost Light, but not because thats the name of the ship, because it’s symbolic to Rodimus himself.

The gameplay could be whatever, turn based or action based I don’t care. It’s just a personal dream of mine. I play Persona a lot and like to think about how amazing a Transformers JRPG or RPG would be and plan it out.

I mean, just imagine it, a Transformers game the likes of Persona 5. I would never have to buy another video game again.
