Violator looks a bit too chunky. I liked it when he was lithe with the massive jaw. Not bad, but I think he looks more like Vandalizer here.
I'd bet a good chunk of money that Todd came up with gunslinger while listening to Cowboys from Hell. Everytime I see it Dimebag's riff plays in my head.
His design kind of reminds me of depictions of Papa Legba actually. I really don't want to start collecting a new line, but that Clown and Redeemer look like must gets. Also - does it seem weird to anyone that there's not a classic or modern Spawn yet in this line? I mean, yes there was a Kickstarter Spawn which people may or may not have or may or may not think fit into this line... but it strikes me as odd to not have the actual flagship character in the first wave.
They're still making the MK Spawn, so putting another basic design in the first wave would seem redundant since the MK version is a nearly perfect representation. Definitely getting two Raven Spawns, though. One for me and one for the SoulsBorne collection. He looks like he could be a boss in either Dark Souls or Bloodborne.
Wow, those look great. Was skeptical about whether I’d want Clown and Violator, but I’m sold. I assume each of these is tied to the upcoming Spawn’s Universe books, but I’m hoping we’ll still get updates of other older Spawn figures down the line.
Yeah, many characters that need a slot. I couldn't ask for more for a 1st wave though. Literally all my top wants made it. Well, I guess Medieval didn't but you know he's coming
Btwn KS & MK11 it's hard to give a regular Spawn, though I'm sure it would sell regardless it's good to see some other title characters get the reigns, guess I need to hurry up on these damn customs before he announces She-Spawn, WW2, Al Simmons, and Omega (Al). Also willing to bet we see the other Omega and Monolith as Megafigs at some point so I'll save the money on making them customs.
At some point, one gets sick of either being too fat (Clown) or too skinny (OG Violator). But yeah, not a fan of buff Violator either.
lol Yeah, while I do like how the new figure looks, I hope Todd will eventually make a classic Violator.
Most excited for raven spawn Then redeemer and gunslinger Violators proportions are all off and clown form looks like it won’t play particularly well def getting the the others tho, I’ll decide on violator after seeing more
I think it was/is just a temporary swipe from Monster Venom. Not his default look if that makes sense.
Yeah, not sure when exactly it happened in the comics or if there was a story reason behind it, but Todd started drawing the character bulkier at some point. In any case, I'm in for Violator and Redeemer at least... maybe Clown. Pass on the two other Spawns. Shame we're not likely to get Medieval Spawn or Angela due to the rights issues.
