So, I'm watching Battle: Los Angeles, a movie where hey play Aliens perfectly, and they don't overpower the military. And I was thinking, why not the heck do this?
I was unaware there was a way that "it blows" could be taken positively. Yeah, Skyline is all-around meh.
Does The Avengers count? I would have to say that's my favorite. I've always had a soft spot for the alien invasion subgenre. I also liked Battle: Los Angeles more than a lot of other people did. I like the 1950s War of the Worlds and the Spielberg one and they would be second place behind Avengers. The invasion scenes in DOTM were awesome as well. Independence Day is also a lot of fun.

But... the aliens! And Jared, and... and... *okay.jpg* I want to know what will happen to them if ever they get out of that ship. Skyline grossed twice their original captial, so there's a possibility for the Strauss Brother to direct a sequel.
You know, now that you mention his name, there was something that I enjoyed about that character. I can't recall what it was or why, but there was something about him. Didn't they pronounce his name differently or something? "Jar-id"? "Jay-rod"?
Skyline was really bad. I was excited after seeing the first trailer for the movie and this movie was awful. I'd say it's almost Last Airbender bad. I also hated the ending.
Skyline should have never been in the theatre, it's nothing more than a tv movie (SyFy channel) exclusive. I have to admit, i did enjoy certain things about the film though... the dazzling light images & the head popping aliens come to mind. Brittany Daniel isn't half bad to look at either... but all & all, it's still bad. Now, if were talking good alien/alien invasion films... I have to agree with you on District 9. Mr. Blomkamp totally nailed his first film. It's actually my favorite so far... until 'Elysium' hits the big screen. Moving on, Slither (2006)!
