Well, this one came out of nowhere. I'm reading he had a heart attack while playing hockey with his son, so for a man who was Canadian, often unabashedly so, there are worse ways to go out I suppose. Rest in Peace.
I remember watching Growing Pains back in the 80's. I wonder was he considered in good health when he was outside playing hockey with his son?
God speed sir! A true legend and an ambassador to the greatest game on Earth! Loved watching Growing Pains. A great show, during a great time where sitcoms actually meant something and had meaning unlike today's trash.
I had the pleasure of meeting Alan a few months ago, he was looking amazing for his age. Before I even saw him I knew it was him- that voice was unmistakable. When his promo guy said hello to me I had already responded with "Hey Alan!" it thinking about it now it was so weird that I just knew before making eye contact. 2016 has seen a lot of unexpected BS.
Was kinda shocked to hear this as he had always been pretty physical and presumably in good shape for his age... so sad that it happened while practicing with his son. Thanks for the jingles and the laughs Alan.
