The only thing that matters is that bay is no longer in charge, and there's actually a semi competent writer on set.

Marvel owns the character, so it was already a possibility. In any case, it won't be made by hasbro.

That's not what I meant. Licensing issues aside, if Hollywood decides to include, say, Blackarachnia or Bulkhead in a movie, it's not like anyone's going to stop them. What purpose does it serve to create a cinematic universe for other series when those venues are already open?

Oh fuck me. As if Ehren Kruger wasn't already a drooling ****** with the intellect of a fencepost, now we've got THIS neurosurgeon handling the 'Cinematic Universe'.

We will send our ideas for Paramount Bay, Hasbro and Akiva? by some means.
    not hurt to try.
    this is the time.
Transformers can have a mega universe in film, compared to Marvel, DC and Starwars.

That was AoE Hound. Do not tell me the large, green, military vehicle alt. mode guy named Hound (who Animated Bulhead has his deco based off of - where else do you think that white star came from?) was not Bulkhead by another name.

At 1st read, I thought this may be the biggest potential transformers news ever. Bigger than the movies.. Bigger than anything so far.

After I read who is spearheading it... The above posts kinda sum it up for me.

He also wrote A beautiful mind, A time to Kill, I robot, Cinderella Man as well as episodes of Fringe. So he's like most people in Hollywood, he has some good films and some not so good films.

Good idea - expanded media universe
Bad idea - appointing a mediocre 'talent' to be a key part of it

It is amusing to see them mention Avatar, Star Wars and Marvel all of which have far better talent attached to them.

These movies have always sucked because they never do any character development, but hopefully we will get some cool and decent toys out of it. This guy actually has been involved in some pretty decent stuff.

Out of all his movies, the only one that I've seen that I liked is The Da Vinci Code.

Regardless, though, I really don't care for this news. Unlike seemingly a lot of people, I actually enjoyed Age of Extinction, severely flawed though it was. It was way too long and had at least two plots. Still, it showed a lot of potential.

A cinematic universe, however, never appeals to me... unless it's Marvel, in which case, they've proven that they can pull it off, but I have no confidence in any other properties being able to do that, including Transformers and friggin' DC Comics.

    I call him Bulk-Hound.

Or at least I did until I gradually began to realize that thanks to John Goodman he was one of the better movie verse TF characters (which isn't saying much). I actually bought the toy because of the character. I'd had zero interest in him until a couple viewings of the movie.
