So, there I was disassembling & reassembling Takara Computron for the umpteenth time when I found myself thinking "man, Afterburner sure looks a lot like the Akira bike... EUREKA!!!" I quickly jumped on the Reprolabels fb page to beg them to make a bonus sticker decal set for him, and it's getting a lot of likes so hopefully it'll continue picking up steam & they'll run with the idea.

Regardless if they do or don't, I'm dead set on moving forward with the concept now. I just can't get the image of ol' Compie with an Akiraburner arm out of my head.

After examining the fig & messing around with it I can see it would be a very easy mod to pull off, and wouldn't interfere with either bot or arm mode at all. By mistransforming the arms I could even make the necessary parts detachable to boot! All it will require is two small plastic balls to cut in half, attach 5mm pegs to, and plug into the underside of his front forearms and rear wheel holes.

The windshield is molded in clear plastic, so a little paint thinner / nail polish remover on the top / back red paint apps would clean it up nicely. The handlebars can be snipped off and glued to the back of the windshield, and the HFG can even be slightly tweaked to look more like the back of the bike too. I may cut up a couple plastic cards to recreate the front side panels too, but we'll see. These are just my initial thoughts & plans, any pointers and/or feedback would be really appreciated!
