As the title says: Airbus wants to patent the most uncomfortable plane seats ever - The Washington Post
i will build a plane filled with la-z-boy chairs. like the one i'm sitting in right now. aahhhhhh, so comfortable. makes my butt happy.
Imagine hooking those bike seats up to the plane's engines. That's cure worldwide obesity pretty quickly.
Because they can fit more of these seats in a plane. Seats getting smaller and smaller as airlines try to cram in as many people as they can.
This is ******ed. I can understand wanting to make space, but airline seats are notoriously uncomfortable as it is. This will only lead to less people flying.
Maybe Airbus should listen to the people making orders.. Qatar Airways rejected first three A380s, disappointed with Airbus AIRSHOW-Qatar Airways rejected first three A380s, disappointed with Airbus | Reuters
If the savings are passed to the consumer I'd be all for this for short domestic flights. However, you're probably looking at a tiny percentage price drop for the consumer and huge percentage profit increase for the airlines.
Seriously? whats friggen sad is they take out all that bulk and they still can't give all three seats separate sets of arm rests.
Possible the designs call for something like this, but we can't see it in the basic designs. Double-Decker Armrest Could End Battle For Elbow Room On Airplanes | Co.Design | business + design
Airbus will next realize they can fit even MORE people into a plane if they grind them up into a slurry and pour them into the cabin until it's completely filled.
You're right, the cabin is designed to be pressurized, they could probably pump the passenger-goo in under compression and account for even more people per plane. Would probably be cost-effective over time, even if they have to reinforce the fuselage.
