is there any difference between the symbol and the classic one?

the only place I could think the toy fitting would be in the generations line but generations seems the place for heritage characters rather than new ones.

The actual differences between the symbols are pretty minimal, and could easily be written off as minor streamlining, or just the 'error' that creeps in when an image is traced, redrawn, or switched between formats. (bitmap to vector, for example)

There's less difference here than there is between 'standard' and movie Bot and Con symbols. (and that ain't a big difference) Just sayin'.

It looks like the same symbol, but drawn differently. Hmmm. Maybe to make it in line with the current faction symbols?

Maybe this has something to do with Prime? But why not just call them inseccticons? I can't imagine it being the name of an individual character - is there precedent for a single character having a faction named after him / a unique symbol?

A third faction, maybe? Breakaways, rebels?

    Possibilities possibilities. :D

It wouldbe neat if it were a plane that transformed into a spider-like robot mode (since I don't like beast alt-modes much) or maybe a drider-like robot mode. I'm not holding my breath for it to be a personal buy, though.

Probably Generations, unless it is part of the new "Prime" series, which would again be unfortunate, since I haven't liked the designs for the latter that I've seen so far.

Barring calling individual characters in later continuities "Insecticon" or "Dinobot" you mean? "Airachnid" sounds like a character name to me. Not enough "bot" or "con" in the name to be a good faction name.

I know, that's what gets me. It sounds like a beast wars character name, like a fuzor or something - but it seems to have a faction symbol - unless the name below the symbol isn't HIS symbol, but simply the predacon symbol and it's just stating his allegiance...

In which case, are we getting new beast wars character? I want more information (and watch as it ends up being nothing interesting at all. :D  )

All I can assume is that the Predacons are back in some way, be it TFP or Generations or even TF3. Maybe Hasbro is reviving the entire Beast Era, possibly giving them a movie of their own...

It's probably going to be a toy in the Generations line, we know that.

But here's an idea, Airachnid could be a canned Fuzor idea from Hasbro that was never released to the public. Airachnid's beast mode could be a combination of a spider (obviously) and some sort of flying beast (bird, insect, ect.).

There is No Airachnid, it's project name, Hasbro has been using it as mis-information to hide the REAL project. Masterpiece Devastator!
