Just picked it up today and I feel that the use of multiple spreads was a bit of a cop out for more story. It did look nice however. What Megatron was tellign Starscream I just couldn't get behind which makes this issue feel really lackluster to me. However, there's one thing in this issue that's pure win. A couple issues ago, we saw the humans using tanks that resembled Universe 2.0 Dropshot, a nice homage IMO. Well in this issue one of them actually is Dropshot!!!!

Picked this up today during my lunch break and it was an enjoyable read. Just as with all the previous interactions between Megatron and Starscream, I really liked how their conversation played out. I liked how it touched on an earlier conversation between the two were Megatron said that Starscream was almost the ideal Decepticon. However it does make me wonder, did Megatron just say this so he could get Starscream to co-operate with him again or did he actually mean what he said and has almost been grooming Starscream to lead. (Pictures Megatron in some sort of Cybertronian retierment home.) Maybe that's why he's going after the earth, he wants to retire in Florida

It was also nice to see Starscream bringing the troops in line and formulating a counter strategy. Lends more to his credibility as an effective commander.

The Megatron and Prime conversation was a good read too. I liked how Prime was just about to finish his token saying only to be cut off by Megatron.

The last page with the nuke being carried by a Decepticon, I assume that would be Octane?

Overall good read, lots of lose ends still out there, but I enjoyed it.

Good call. It likely is Octane. Dropshot made me :lol  and the spread pages are SO pretty.

i love how omega removes the threat of devastator, litterally!!

loved the facial expressions throughout, especially in the megs/SS scene. it was cool to see megs reason with him as opposed to just blasting him in the face like in infiltration. did megs need starscream to rally the troops for him? probably not, with SS out of the way they'd have no choice but to follow him. but to bring SS to his side?... nice turnaround. he used the exact same logic of a united decepticon cause that SS had in originally defying him... brilliant.

    looking forward to part 12.

I enjoyed the bit of Omega vs. Devz battle, beyond that it was all build for what has been meh.

    Amazing art.
Where did Dropshot come from? Is he G1?
Good dialogue between Megatron and Starscream, but with all this build up the Prime Megs fight must be epic. My issue is that so far Prime is anything but the hero, Kup seems to have it more together. We shall see.

Yeah, Dropshot is probably the best thing about this series. I mean, we see him once with the numbers on X issues ago, everyone just assumed it was a fan nod, and then out of nowhere this issue BAM! He transforms. AWESOME. Now I'm half-expecting Animated Bulkhead to come out of nowhere next issue.

    "Freedom is the right of--"
    "Oh, SHUT UP."
    was also pretty funny.

The rest of this issue was pretty weak, though. Am I supposed to understand what Megatron was talking to Starscream about? I thought the whole thing about Starscream was he thinks he's waaay better than he actually is. Why would Megatron EVER want him to be leader? And other than that there really wasn't much plot beyond "BAATTTTLLEEE!!!"

I also think this issue was a contest to see how much they could over-size Devastator. Skyscraper-sized? Omega Supreme-sized? SURE, why not?

We're actually discussing this on the wiki, since Dropshot the Micromaster had previously appeared in Spotlight: Hardhead, and now Universe Dropshot (who appears to be intended to be Micromaster Dropshot) has appeared in AHM. Micromaster Dropshot was a Dead Universe-aligned character, a formerly biological citizen of Gorlam Prime who was transformed into a Micromaster as part of Nemesis Prime and Jhiaxus' plans.

    Better...not great, but better.

The conversation between Megatron and Starscream...I want to like it more than I do. If there was more set up. Is Megatron intending to martyr himself for the cause at some point in the future? Telling Starscream he's going to crush Megatron and step over him to become leader is insane. That's just going to encourage him to be impatient about it.

Damn...gestalts mass-shift up I guess? Seriously, Devs was freaky big. Scavenger's cabin window was about big enough for a fighter jet to fly through.

Enough double splash pages yet? I myself would prefer more story, plskthnx.

One element I did really, really like was Dropshot having been present the whole time. Freaking Dropshot. Now that was some "robots in disguise"! That's what I like to see. Colonel Witwicky's near-panic at realizing that the Decepticons could be literally anywhere was just perfect. That's one thing that makes them frightening beyond their destructive nature and abilities, their ability to almost instinctively infiltrate infrastructure.

I am also guessing Octane for the bomber. But I don't see what's so big about Megatron needing it. They've already overtly stated they could easily orbitally bombard Earth into total submission.

So, I guess that really is Prime, then. No explanation as to how he recovered? Writing's a little slipshod there, in my opinion.

    Still,
"Freedom is the right of all..."
    "Oh, shut up."

I did get a giggle out of that. I could absolutely hear Cullen and Welker doing that exchange.

I liked this one better, but I think it's because for one thing, the art seemed to be relatively stable (scales be damned, EJ Su, where are you?) and because I've almost got myself trained into thinking this hasn't come after the best TF comic series in years.

Still, I called Megatron's plans back in like issue 3, maybe 4, so I'm not impressed. It wasn't a big reveal or a shock.

Megatron's speech to Starscream was really good, I thought.

I really liked the issue, if not for just some plain ol' Decepticon on Autobot battles with some Cliffjumper trash talk.

    I liked the issue overall.
After so many pages of moping and pouting by the Autobots it was nice to see some good Bot vs Con action.

I thought the dialog between Megatron and Starscream was good.
And I really liked most of the art -including the panels that looked like they came from the '86 movie.
However, I really had an issue with the scale.
Exactly how big is Devastator now? Omega?

Omega was previously shown to be about 2.5 times the size of Optimus Prime.
Now he is whatever size he needs to be and can carry the entire Autobot battalion aboard himself as a rocket and then magically recreate his robot form from what is essentially just his forearms.

When "mass displacement" was introduced in IDW it cost serious energy.
Megatron even warned the Decepticons to stand back when he transformed.
Omega seems to have none of those issues.

I don't believe AHM was ever going to address mass-displacement, since it was a fairly minor Furman-story thing compared to some of the other continuity issues they were not originally going to address as well.

So when we will have "All Hail Starscream"? A comic without Megs and SS leading would be very interesting. I need that Omega punch to Devs for my desktop wallpaper! Love Omega!

This whole issue reminded me of the 80's series. And to tell you the truth....I don't know if that is supposed to be a good thing.
