Wow, that's very cool. But the wheels hanging off the hips like that, I'm scratching my head over that one, especially for a model that doesn't transform why did they make that design choice?

I bought my 05 Ford Taurus for a bit over 1,000 about a year ago now, and it's been running great with very little work needed, right now it needs an alignment and new tires, but that's about it. Secondhand cars can be pretty affordable, and if you know what to look for, you can find good deals on good cars

This is overpriced, and even scalpers won\'t try to get the prices up, since they know this is crazy at it is...

I've used Agora Models before. They fulfill the Warhammer 40K Imperium Magazine subscriptions where I live. I am on the fence about this one because my experience with them has been amazing so far and they are now out of subscriptions on that magazine worldwide. Plus, I enjoy building models, but it will reduce the rest of my disposable income budget for a while. That's an entirely selfish problem, so forgive my thinking out loud there.

At almost 31 inches, this is taller than a Titan. Also, for anyone that is worried about money, stuff like this, the Warhammer 40K Imperium subscription, and Eaglemoss' Marvel chess set subscription routinely sell well aftermarket, if you can find them. Not that I sell my stuff, but if you are an investor, it's worth noting.

Don't buy into these "subscription" model kits deals. You could be halfway done when the company goes out of business. Then you're left with an incomplete thousand dollar paper weight.

I had forgotten this even existed.
They'll send you a box once a month for a year, but only give you the price for the first and second month?
And those two prices are different -so what is the total price?

I understand including kibble on non-transforming figures to evoke the suggestion that the character has an alternate mode.
I don't understand adding kibble to non-transforming figures in areas where the character typically doesn't have any.

The wheels on Optimus's hips just look odd.
They look like a design element added at the last minute with the intention of making his resting arm pose look unnatural.
His arms are touching these wheel components that have never existed on this design before.
    Why?

The wheels on Optimus's legs have been recessed inside his legs on official Hasbro mainline releases for quite some time.
Why did they make them so prominent on this model?
And at the same time they shrank the fuel tanks and added some weird ridges around them so they don't look like fuel tanks.

It looks like they finished the model and then realized they forgot the Autobot symbol.
It's way too big and it hangs over stripe on his shoulder.
And to make it look even more weird they colored the crest white the same as the symbol's eyes.
So now it looks like the Autobot symbol has three eyes like Tien from Dragonball.

    Seriously, why the third eye?

If you want a big lit up G1 Prime just wait for another run of Lewin Prime to come around 28" 24lbs and MP10 what more could you ask for oh wait its only $350usd vs this Gundam looking Prime at $1200 also no assembly required, and you have the whole thing up front. Just saying.
Also Lewin transforms! On another note, this thing looks like its made of lego's.

You need a subscription to get all the parts of one model? A model that costs over $1000 and takes a year to finish? I can't say I even like the finished product. Yeah, no thank you.

Never heard of this "subscription model" for kits before, but it sounds like a huge load of BS. Won't support anything like that, ever.

I mean, I think the Robosen one is ridiculously priced... but even that, at least it transforms and is fun. If you are a high roller, go with that

I wonder why there is so many "art models" of G1 Optimus Prime that re DRASTICALLY redesigned like this is.
Is it part of the license that they are not allowed to make it look like the cartoon or a more typical representation of Optimus.
They always seem to end up 'over chunky'.

I guess I might buy this on clearance but would otherwise ignore it entirely.

    [edit]

It cost $1000 takes a year to complete and looks like ASS

LOL No thanks I would even pay $80.00 for that.

Or to put it another way I can buy multiple Titan Class for that price, or I could look at what $1000 would buy in in 3rd party Transformers or Diaclone and once I stop laughing.

I'd have to say I'd be surprise if they even get to making part 2 before cancelling it.

Those fugly Chonktimus Prime proportions that seem to seep into every model kit or high-end non-transforming figure of OP strike again!

$1,725 for a figure that doesn't convert, will be a bitch to find storage space for, will probably be heavy af thanks to the die-cast, the paint is likely to start chipping off eventually if you play with it too much...

    Yeah I'll take 5
