Probably. I clear coated the doors on my movie Barricade, to prevent the same thing from happening with his police markings. It's worked great.

    That sucks...
    I had a problem with A prowl:
the autobot sticker on the front of the bike scratches of easily. I put a reprolabels shiny autobot symbol on it and it looked great.
The same exact thing happened to A Cybertron Primes faction symbol on the sheild piece. But once again, I just put a reprolabels symbol over it, and it was good as new.

Agreed, I'm off to dig out my Mary Whitehouse Experience Encyclopedia.

I wonder if perhaps a letter to Toyfair with links to all of the posts on here and Seibertron.com might get some attention?

I'm having this issue with my Universe Prowl as well, but it's very minor so far. I felt so special never having any QC issues until now. T_T

I have Animated Leader Megatron and I did the rub test which resulted in no black paint on my hands while I didn't feel any greasy-ness to my knowledge (I tried to take a photo, but it didn't turn out well).

I am wondering if I should fix the paint/clear coat or is it probably one of the good ones? (I am a bit of a worrier.)

Note: Got Megatron #1 on 7/13/08.

Hi there. This is something that I wanted to mention as well. No fan should have to worry about taking preventive measures for a problem that squarely lies with Hasbro's doing. I've seem so many posts where people start "clear-coating" the paint.

As much as I am enjoying Animated Leader Megatron, I think these complaints are valid and I think the best solution to this problem would be a letter to Hasbro listing everyone's complaints and any problems that they experienced with the toys.

I think this is one time where Legal, but Polite Action should be taken.

Q: I use brushes for when I clear-coat stuff so my question is "What size of Brush can I use on the Black Paint on his cockpit?

Is this Deluxe or Voyager class Megs that this is happening to? It's not Leader class, right? I have a Leader and Deluxe, but now I'm afraid to try....usually I transform these guys once and put them on a shelf. My Prowl hasn't had this happen either, but I haven't gone and fiddled with him.
