Well that promo confirms it, this is the actual spirit of vengeance. But the big question is, what was that in the box???
Oh my god the shakycam - why?! I do not understand why they lost the smooth camerawork from the past three seasons.
I do wish they saved it for the second episode, but seeing it was nice. Whatever it is, it looks like May has been affected. Hopefully, the Ghost Rider can help SHIELD deal with that box.
That was an awesome premiere. Obviously, I was most hyped for the Ghost Rider stuff, and they delivered on that. The Ghost Rider reveal was great, and his design looks really good in motion. A 1969 Dodge Charger has always been my dream muscle car, so it doesn't bother me that it's not one of the biker ones. Plus, I don't know much about Robbie, but he seems interesting on his own so far. I was a bit distracted by his brother being played by Chris from Fear the Walking Dead though. I can't wait to see more of him throughout the season. The continuing SHIELD stuff was also pretty good. I like where they seem to be going with this LMD storyline, and the actress playing Aida is really good at being robotic and not going overboard with it. I'm not sure about this box story yet though. It feels like the show has done this before. I just hope they tie it in with Ghost Rider somehow.
30 minutes in and it is clear the show is trying to make the team dynamic work while fucking up the team dynamic. Also, what in the fuck happened to SHIELD to the point it's lanyards on steroids now? If it is those fucking accords without explaining one goddamn thing I might actually jettison the MCU entirely because apparently nobody learned the red tape only makes things worse.
Pretty sure Colonel/General Talbot is the director. Also, I'm getting all sorts of Raiders of the Lost Ark opening the Ark scene vibes from that Pandora's box the mobsters were trying to buy.
Well that was better than I expected. I liked the parts that dealt with Ghost Rider and the box, but I need an explanation of what the firery fuck is going on!!! LIKE RIGHT NOW!!!! Why is Sky not with them anymore? Who the hell is this new director dude and why is Coulson being treated like a criminal? Why is speedster lady being treated like a criminal? None of this makes any sense and I don't like that they aren't explaining this bullshit as it feels forced and as if they are trying to make it more edgy for the sake of it.
What a way to start a season. They nailed what kind of character Ghost Rider is in here and our first real showing of the supernatural in the MCU speaking of the supernatural was that spirit thing going to posses May or make her see demonic things making her freak out a little?
I'm pretty sure all the major changes like Coulson and Yo-Yo being treated like criminals, the new director, Daisy going rogue, the splitting of the team, etc. all goes back to the Socovia Accords. It wouldn't surprise me if Talbot used the Accords with authority from the two faced POTUS in this series to force these changes on SHIELD. Much easier to control them this way.
Fucking amazing. When Ghost rider is co platelet still some of the lighting and textures are t perfect but in motion, and there was plenty of action, it's more than fine Lots of tighter camera work, lots of darker lighting. And of course, the body count. I am in
Yeah, okay, I get that, but how about actually showing us that instead of just making all of these cheap "I know something you don't know!" remarks.
Daisy quit the team after Lincoln died because she feels guilty, and also being under control of Hive/Ward. That's why she keeps talking about people being attached to something in the episode.
