So it is the night before the big release date for the Age of Extinction toyline in the US and soon all the stores will be filled with Wave 1, and hopefully Wave 2, toys for us to buy exactly on the street date and never any earlier because as we all know they're great at keeping things until launch day  

Anyways, with the street date so very near I figured why not post a topic to post what you plan on picking up and what you actually did pick up once tomorrow hits, or even what you already picked up already due to store errors.

I believe that's only Singapore. I see nothing for US.

 

Yeah the midnight release is only for Singapore, so expect Strafe, Slash and Drift to be on Ebay around 12:30am for $100 each

Strafe, Slash and Evasion Optimus are my target items. Gonna go after work tonight around 2:30 AM to a Wally World and see if the're already out. Already got dinobot Purpletron, Redbot and BulkHound from HTS. Hound is fantastic. If you don't have him on your list, you should.

 

So far I've picked up all of the Wave 1 Generations deluxes. The two dinobots are really nice, and Bumblebee is quite good. Crosshairs has wonky shoulders, but looks great in alt mode.

Also picked up Evasion Mode Optimus, which I'm in love with. Best film Optimus at voyager class, IMO. Saw the leader, but didn't pull the trigger. That backpack. Might cave tomorrow, as other than the obvious it looks better than I thought.

And finally, snagged a leader Grimlock. This toy has been slagged up and down the boards, and the video reviews. And yes, there is the chrome. The figure could be improved just by ditching it for the stock photo colors. But honestly, this is my favorite AoE toy so far. The robot mode is epic, giving off a fantastic anime super robot vibe. And the dino mode looks sooo much better in hand than in pics. I may be the only one who will, but I totally recommend him, so long as you can tolerate the chrome.

 

I agree with your recommendation on Leader Grimlock. It is a great figure, I love both modes.

I grabbed a few before the street date too. Thanks Wal-Mart. However, I will probably get Drift and Slug tommorow to finish off the wave one deluxes. BTW,for anyone reluctant to get Leader Optimus because of the backpack, you can pop out one pin and take it off...he looks like the CGI model, and can still transform. Plus, the back pack makes a great little rolling battle thingy.

I read about this (OP backpack removal) in another thread last night waiting for Godzilla to start, and went home and gave it a whack, and it looks great!

 

I have already grabbed a couple, but haven't seen anyone put out the deluxes early.

Did anyone's stores actually put anything out at midnight or around there? I wish they would do that again.

I have to actually see the Takara Lockdown before I buy him, same goes for Hound.

I'm actually not going to get the movie's 'man made transformers', UNLESS Stinger is amazing looking (unfortunately, Galvatron isn't. at least, not the Hasbro version)

 

Is that Target two pack with FoC Grimlock and that chromed out Optimus supposed to be released today?
