here’s hoping! Also If they released a Metrotitan I’d be happy
Well I don't think Hasbro is the issue here. I think it's mostly retailer's willingness to stock them. I'm glad Target is stocking Scorponok. But that's also exactly one US retailer. And how many cases are they going to get total per store?
Omega Supreme was online only in the US. Scornponok isn't. That's good. But without TRU, does Hasbro have a reliable retail partner for them? Hopefully it's target. But if it isn't, and more titans will be online only in the US, might as well just do Haslab in that case.
The titans have survived as online items more or less. I only ever saw Devastator and Trypticon in Toys r us, never saw Metroplex, Fort Max or Predaking. And saying they should just be haslab items is short sighted. Haslab so far has only been 1-2 campaigns a year, and for various brands. They're not going to do a haslab campaing every year for the same brand because then it dilutes what haslab is. Brick and mortar retail is a dying industry, they can't keep up with demand as much as online companies can and to place all importance on brick and mortar is short sighted
I'd love a Brave Maximus, but first I'd like to see an updated Fort Max, because while I love my TakTom Legends Fort Max and Grand Max, the mold really isn't very good.
As for the Combiners, I'd LOVE for them to all get released in Titans boxsets....only done better than Devastator and Predaking were, because I'm sorry, but they weren't very good (IMO) either.
My ideal Brave Max would be a new mold that could then get repainted into G1 Fort Max, wouldn't want it to be the TR mold (except maybe keep the head/cerebros portion)
I personally want more Titan-class combiners. Re-do the G1 teams. It's the best way to avoid design compromises.
I'd be in favor of that but if people are bitching about redoing Metroplex, the combiners are even more recent.
I'd love to see an Animated Omega Supreme as the Ark done up in Generations style...
Looking at Devi and PK they seem more compromised by being titans than my regular CW/POTP combiners.
So if combiners are the future of the titan class I hope they are smaller so as not to compromise the parts for the need to support that height and weight. I fears its parts count that are really holding them back though. Anyone with the down scales Devi care to chime in on this? Does he work significantly better that the regular one and do the individual constructicons hold up better?
With the next subline being Kingdom and apparently focusing on Beast Wars, the Ark is appropriate for Titan class since it's name comes from a vessel used to transport animals.
I would like to see Metroplex redone when they do titan masters again so all four citybots can have partners with the matching gimmick.
If they redo combiners as Titans I will save money not buying them. I'd prefer they redo the Constructicons and Predacons to be smaller to match the other combiners and use the same connectors. Predaking particularly needs redone
After playing with Skorponok, Omega, and Tyrpticon I think Hasbro has to revisit Metroplex and Fort Max with everything they learned.
If they do remake Metroplex, I just hope they integrate a mechanism to combine with any autobot combiner limbs. Its one feature I miss when it comes to the Titan version
It would certainly fit with the philosophy of retaining legacy gimmicks from the original figures, like Scorponok, Apeface and Snapdragon all retaining Headmaster gimmicks for example, and as that was a feature of the original Metroplex I feel like they should do it if they do do a new Metroplex.
Just speculating but could be...
@Starling I think you're right on the money.
It's time for a new Metroplex.
I kind of wish this had been the haslab item, and Unicron had been a titan.
@Starling Yeah, I think you nailed it on the head. The Ark will be a playset, most likely compatible with the Core Class figures (hence, the Core Class Optimus and Megatron coming).
I've been keeping up with a lot of the pages and I think a lot of suggestions are a bit too niche or not fitting the class. Personally, in the Size class's future, I see:
A Metroplex redo
Maybe a Fort Max redo.
Haven't all of the reliable leakers said that the ark has a bot mode and isn't just a playset though?
Aaaaand...while it hasn't technically been announced, after today's reveals we have a winner: the Ark as the next titan. With robot mode of course.
The hints panded out, its the Ark
