I love Aerosmith Last few albums, I love not so much. Here is to praying we get some awesome songs out of it
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant thinking there. You're an unknown band and you want to get noticed, so you figure the best way of doing so is hacking a famous band's website? Well congratulations, you just ensured that no one will actually WANT to notice you, let alone try and deal with you at all because of the picture you just painted of yourselves. Dumbf*cks.
Nine Lives was great, better than GAG, JPP and Bobo imo. I've heard almost all of the new album. It's good, certainly better than JPP and Bobo. Luv XXX is a pretty good opener, and there's some cool old school stuff there: Luv XXX (reminds me a bit of Love In Elevator), Legendary Child (written during the GAG sessions), Street Jesus (think Jailbait or Train Kept A Rollin'), Freedom Fighter (Joe Perry song), Out Go The Lights (written during the Pump sessions), Lover Alot...
I couldn't disagree more. Nine Lives and Just Push Play were so completely underwhelming, I was done with them after that. Get a Grip was decent at the time, especially the "Alicia Silverstone Saga", but was nowhere near as timeless their previous albums. They all sound the same after that. Pass.
Ok, I get it, you just listened to their radio singles and never actually listened to the albums in full. For starters, JPP sounds nothing like NL or any of their other albums.
PV: pop (all good) Pump: pop (all good) GAG: pop (I hate the boring stuff like Flesh, Walk On Down, Gotta Love It) NL: some pop, some raw (the Japanese version has 2 more tracks - Falling Off and Fall Together - that are excellent - personally, it's my favorite modern Aerosmith album) JPP: overproduced pop (don't really like) HOB: covers, raw (some great covers, but overall, I don't really like it) MFAD: some pop, some raw (some really good stuff, some boring, too many ballads that aren't anywhere as good or epic as their previous ones)
I enjoyed Nine Lives and Just Push Play, but the new Aerosmith album sucks more than a vacuum cleaner. I didn't think it was possible for them to make an album worse than Pump, but they've done it!
I read this thread title as "Aernaroth's official website hijacked" and had two thoughts: 1. Aernaroth has an official website? Awesome. 2. It got hacked? Those bastards.
I just listened to the whole album. -6 good songs (Luv XXX, Oh Yeah, Beautiful, Out Go The Lights, Legendary Child, Street Jesus) -they should have removed We All Fall Down, Closer and Something, that's just b-side material -What Could Have Been Love and Can't Stop Lovin' You are too similar, they should have dropped one -Out Go The Lights is too long, the 2nd portion after the stop is useless -the album closer is good, sounds like old Aerosmith (Mia?), yet it's lacking something I was initially disappointed, then it grew on me, but now that I've heard the 4 last songs, I'm like, meeeeeh. Hopefully the bonus tracks from the deluxe version will be better.
Modern Aerosmith are like a drunk uncle dancing at a wedding - they don't realise they're far too past it to keep doing it, it's bloody embarrassing to watch and you wish they'd just stop.
Yeah, just no. Get A Grip and Nine Lives are two of their best albums, everything after I Don't Want to Miss a Thing was a slow descent downhill. Pretty much any aging band, ever. Rolling Stones last decent album was Voodoo Lounge in 1993, if I remember. Van Halen? That last album was terrible, poor David Lee Roth. GnR...oh boy what can one say about the train wreck that was Chinese Democracy.
No, I bought both albums, listened to them quite a few times, and pretty much ended up with buyer's remorse each time. To each, his own.
Just listened to the 3 bonus tracks. The one with Tom Hamilton on lead vocals is pretty cool, the other 2 are, well, b-side material again.
