looking to get an android gaming device or tablet. Currently using a kindle fire hd8, but it doesn't work well with telescopic controllers due to the buttons for volume and power being on the top. Curious if anyone knows of any good android based dedicated handheld consoles or what a good tablet to look at would be. Any advice is appreciated.

Been looking at a GPD XD Plus, but reviews on it seem to be on extreme ends of it's good and it sucks

I have a switch, but I also want something for more retro games that aren't on switch, and I'm unwilling to risk hacking the switch

I have a gpd xd plus and i love it. The preinstalled app happychick has all the systems peloaded and a sear ch function for most popular games. It comes with chrome and with a file explorer app you can find and download any other games and load them into the happy chick. Plays up to dreamcast, some games are laggy but theres custom firmware that boosts performance (cleanrom) but i havent installed it yet

Edit im actually thinking about selling mine if you want to pm me an offer. I just got a modded switch with full retro content

Thanks for the offer, but the more I look into things I think I'm leaning toward the S21 as an upgrade. My carrier is supposedly going to offer me one for $0-$50 depending on storage, and based on reading it can run up to dolphin plus has the added benefit of project xcloud/xbox game streaming, which I already pay for due to having game pass ultimate. It's just the idea of upgrading and switching to android from iphone is a bit daunting, especially having bad luck with earlier s series phones (s2 and s3)
