Depends on what you want to do. Unless you have a way of degassing the silicone, I don't reccommend using it. Most hobby shops I have been in have the alumilite kits where you can make molds, but I can't comment on their quality.

So far I've gotten my stuff from www.theengineerguy.com

They have lots of mold making stuff and resins you can buy. They have been great on customer service as well. They sell a lot of stuff from Smooth-On, a company that makes a lot of mold making stuff.

A strawberry milkshake that would kill you.

By the way, the lego idea isn't mine, I've just seen several other people use it. It does however make building your mold box much easier, efficient, and fun because they're legos, and who doesn't enjoy playing with legos?

I made another wing tonight, still having some air issue, but it came out better than the first one.

I'm going to start on my other mold soon.

It has detail, but the fan housing is flat. It basically looks like this, but with out the plastic mend and that half of a hole has been filled in.

Would the part be solid enough to withstand drilling a hole for the launchers to fit in?

To my knowledge, no. Reason being is that I have to degas it after I mix the two parts together.

    Interesting....

I have the Botcon seekers but I still find this cool. Any chance of you doing Dirge wings next? I might sell my Botcon Dirge if I could make a better one out of a Ramjet and some new wings...

I haven't really thought about it, but I guess its a possibility. Dirge is the last seeker I need to make so I haven't even attempted a bash of his wing yet.

This is OUTSTANDING! I can't believe I didn't see this thread before.

I'd buy a pair of these wings even at a bad price. :)

    http://www.alumilite.com/

That's what I used to make repro long stacks for 20th Prime a few years ago. No degassing needed, so you won't need a vacuum chamber like whatever Boggs is using.

Thanks! I was looking at that yesterday and was wondering about needing the vacuum chamber.

Looking extremely good so far, I think you could take this thread and basically have your pre-order list when you're ready.

Any updated? I'm curious as to how much a set of these will cost when you produce them, so that I can make sure that I have enough for a set when you do.
