HasTak should have ditched the light piping on Bee and done the eyes the same way as MPM Prime's.

Ooooh that snapped off head looks painful! I retract my previous statement.

The sculpted eyes on that custom bee look delicious. Hoping one of the 3rd parties will step up to the plate and offer replacement eyes and wing pieces for added accuracy.

 

The painted, sculpted eyes look much better. Light-piping should stay out of Masterpiece figures altogether, with the exception of guys like Shockwave.

Ouch. Hoping my two copies are problem free.

 

Dropping the ball when it comes to the eyes is a sort of custom for figures that "reboot" an MP line.  

The silver backed clear blue eyes didn't work on TakaraTomy's MP-10. Hasbro rectified it by painting over them in blue.

The smoke colored light piped eyes on TakaraTomy's MPM-3 are awful. In some pics, it looks like Bumblebee is beckoning us to look into his eyes and gaze into the abyss. Hasbro painting them clear blue is an improvement but as seen by that custom, sculpted eyes with paint is still superior.

 

That picture of TakaraTomy MPM-3 neck joint to get stuck sure look scary, Hasbro wins hands down for this figure.

 

They reported problems with hasbro's too tho.

 

Here's the head broken off on a Hasbro version. The break is different in this case. The central yellow shaft broke off on this piece.

I spoke too soon about the no issues though. I just noticed this morning that he's missing the little black protruding piston on the right side of his abdomen. I don't remember breaking it off so it must have been missing out of the package. Not going to lose any sleep over it, but still a bummer. Another broken bumblebee to add to the pile...

Jeeez, the MPM line just can't seem to catch a break.


Maybe I'll avoid it after all then.  

 

Was there any truth to the rumor that Barricade is only getting produced if the line does well? Because that sounds like pure speculation to me.

Anyway, since it's out in Canada now, maybe I'll try my luck in Illinois in the US.

I was among those that believed Barricade would happen only if the line sold well. My assumption stems from them wanting customers to buy their two figures instead of being granted a cushion of a third figure regardless if the line sells well

Also, I think it won't be until August that US TRU will start stocking this
