The latest installment of the "Transformers" franchise has primarily been filming in Detroit, but it appears Chicago will play a small role.

According to Rich Moskal, who heads up the Chicago Film Office, a small crew was in town Sunday and Monday shooting skyline footage using a drone in the South Loop.

This is most-likely footage for the fifth film in the series, "Transformers: The Last Knight."

The third film, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" (from 2011) did shoot the bulk of its scenes in Chicago and some scenes from the fourth film, "Transformers: Age of Extinction" were also shot locally.

Probably is some minor shots, nothing that important.

Hmm could just be ariel establishing/scenery shots, given the use of a drone. Nothing major.
