I whipped this up late last month to ship with my other Shapeways project and it works great. It's a 5mm peg with clip to position his combined gun horizontally, and a sight-styled filler block for the titanmaster seat. There is one little bug with the design, though: The peg makes the gun too "tall" for the fighter mode to sit flat on a table. This might be correctable by shaving some length off of the peg, but I'm not sure if it would still be long enough to stably grip in his hand. As for alternative mounting, the peg seems to wedge securely into the rectangular gap behind the landing gear, but your mileage may vary. Well this is interesting: It almost does. All I'd have to do is double the peg length and shave about half a millimeter from the filler block. I can make a variant for Highbrow if you want.
That would be really cool! I didn't like the holes in his individual weapons and the combined gun just doesn't look right. But now, it looks like you have found a fix for both problems. Awesome!
Handle & Filler for TR Highbrow by energonhotshot04 on Shapeways Here you go. I was originally going to just make some adjustments, but I couldn't help but style it a little. The new filler detail is based on the canister detail of G1 Highbrow's guns.
Mine arrived this morning with a bunch of other Shapeways parts, mainly for Max. Looks good and generally does the job, but the gun handle sits in Triggerhappy's hand very loosely. It's going to need building up slightly, I'm wondering if clear nail varnish or a layer of paint might do the trick?
That's odd. I guess I need to bulk the peg up slightly to account for printing variations. EDIT: Done. It might take more than one layer of paint since strong-flexible prints are porous. Lightly sanding the peg between coats might help.
I haven't had lot of luck with any of my shapeways purchases involving 5mm pegs: the pegs either turn out slightly too small or the holes too big!
Any chance on one for Topspin/Twin Twist? These are awesome! I hate using the stock guns because of that hollow seat in them.
Topspin and Twintwist just need a filler, they already have a handle. Me, I like my guns open so the little man can sit in them. Hot Rod is the only remaining combining gun who can't hold the combined weapon so the Titanmaster can sit in it.
I mean a filler for their individual guns. Their bathtub gun is fucking ridiculous and should never be spoken of again.... Like all of the bathtub guns (stupid gimmick on top of another gimmick. At least Mechtech had some cool designs and weapons). IMO, of course.
