You would have thought a “Premium” figure line would have painted their first vehicle.

I just went and tracked down the unboxing video. And honestly, I think it really just needs some more deco. It's not the most intimidating vehicle design anyway, but I think some additional deco could do a lot for it. Not necessarily paint either...maybe just some additional exterior armor or body panel details or something (seams, rivets, etc.). They wouldn't have to be extra pieces...just some extra detail sculpted onto the surfaces of the body. Maybe some paint and weathering could look great on it. I assume customizers will add some of that. It's not bad, I suppose, but I think it could benefit from some more character.

Looking for more of a "technical" and less "soccer mom"? The vehicle does stick pretty close to a glorified suburban-war machine and less like something that you'd expect to see in a firefight. But that's what civilian armoured cars are meant to look like. Not the kind of ride that you'd expect a team of specialists to use in the jungles of the Congo, cross the Sahara, or battle a post-apocalyptic world. I'm sure the car company is flattered about the toy looking so much like the real thing.

It did occur to me that they may be limited in how much they can modify the body of the vehicle if they have an agreement with the full-size manufacture that contains such limitations. I'd like to see somebody paint one up to look like it just bounced through a war zone...scratches, bullet holes...maybe some dents...give it some age.

I am thinking about buying the Grey colored one, for the twins in business suits travel, but I would prefer black. If I do buy Grey and black becomes available at a latter date, I would be pived as I do not want two of these vehicles.

I just checked it out too. Its very underwhelming. $185 is a lot to pay, you would expect it to have a nice paint application at least.

Personally, even if I was buying it I wouldn't be getting the free missile launcher because I refuse to use his storefront (assuming BBTS preorders won't come with the missile launcher). As is though, I'm happy enough limiting my vehicles to the Classified stuff.

While the unboxing video was a commercial, instead of highlighting his products, he went on a hasbro rant. He needs therapy to get over his loss of a job, it basically feels lie he is obsessed with an ex. Anyway, buying through his website is a good deal, free shipping, not tax, and the inclusion of the missle launcher.

Oh it's absolutely a good deal, I just refuse to use his site because I've had too many issues trying to buy from his site and it crashing, and then his blatant lies about product drops that he then deletes off of social media. His products are decent quality, his website and business acumen are garbage as is his cult following that has all but driven me from collecting the line.

I do not care or participate in X vs Y company and I am not a "cult member", I only care about the toys. I ended up buying a Vanguard, decided to repaint it midnight black when I get it, and will add a more fine details. I want brand new looking Vanguard for the twins going to or leaving Extensive Enterprise towers.

Oh I'm not trying to say you're any of those things, if anything, you're by far one of the most reasonable people I've conversed with regarding the line. Apologies if you took what I said as being directed at you.

I did not take your comments personally. I understand your reasons for not buying direct. I find it laughable about how grown old men most probably 40+ years old behaving like children arguing over toys. This board has the best community overall.

100% agreed. Even this forum isn't immune to it, but this is by far the best fandom community I've found online

Thanks! FWIW, I get a lot of my spare parts from this guy on ebay. He's usually a few bucks cheaper than most others and he's constantly resupplying. He's a little short on heads at the moment but that's because I literally just bought like a dozen from him, but the cool thing is he combines shipping so it came out to be around $6 a head, which is around half that what others charge. If I can't find what I'm looking for there then I'll check out this guy, he almost always has what I'm looking for though it might be a few bucks more.

And this is why I like using Bobby's troop builders. After a while, out of the package they do start to get a little boring but the moment you stick a good, unique head on them that works then, presto, instant new character you can build an entire head canon around to supplement your Joe/Vala forces. At least, that's been my take away from this line, along with some of his unique characters.

EDIT: There's also this guy who does some extremely good repainting of heads but they are definitely not cheap so ymmv.

Tony made a better commercial for the Vanguard then Bobby. Tony made both versions of the Vanguard look much better.

IMO Tony usually does a good job promoting Action Force in a way that makes sense without sounding like an obnoxious Bobby Vala sycophant. Guy seems to be pretty level headed from what I've seen.

Props to whoever did the photoshoot for that video too. That Pandora shot looked awesome.
