Your recent posts on this thread encouraged me to go a little further on this custom yet again.

Using the weapons upgrade kit for Black Apple Optimus' ion blaster (the hand and forearm guard) as a model, I fashioned one for this custom by cutting out and reshaping the various pieces from scrap parts using wire cutters, exacto blades and filing tools. Each piece is connected by super glue.



It's still in progress. I need to paint it.





It plugs onto the tab at the bottom of his blaster. Still removable too.





And here's how it looks with him holding it.



I should be done painting the new accessory today.

Very cool! I always forget that he had these arm guard things in a few scenes. Would be cool to have for the SS figure.

 

Thanks! I always wished that Hasbro would have done this too, for every class of the character.

 

This afternoon, I decided to remove the original exhaust pipes from his shoulder hinges and put them where they should actually go.



I also opted for the AoE voyager exhaust pipes for this mod, and glued them into position.



Edit: added chrome marker to the stacks.





And I re-chromed the gas tanks.

 

The chrome looks awesome!

Hey @savio-prime have you considered one of the replacement heads that DMS and CK are selling for this figure? Could help to complete the look. He's selling a masked and unmasked version (also jetpowered versions). The first wave had a terrible ball joint socket that was impossible to get on but the newest batch is much better by all reports.

Thank you both! I received the new head. I think it's a much nicer sculpt, but the blue didn't match my custom. So, I had to repaint it.

 

Do you have any plans on doing this kind of modifications on any other transformers toys?
