There are some abilities I don't fully understand.

Does the Kinetic Capacitor Shield use a toggle, or a continuous hold? Also, how strong is the energy bolt it sends?

How strong is the Explosive Path ability when you're not Bruticus?

And, just out of curiosity, what is Lockdown's default ability in Escalation?

Kinetic Capacitor Shield charges and stores the energy until you do the next melee attack with the shield. You can charge it up, turn off the shield (charge is still stored), wait until a swarm of enemies show up, then turn on the shield and use it.

Both a fully charged Kinetic Capacitor Shield and Explosive Line ability can kill any normal enemy on a direct hit (bugs, sharpshooters, soldiers, shotgunners, scrappers, rocketeers, snipers). It won't kill Leapers, Titans, Heavy Gunners or bosses with one hit, but will do about 25-30% damage.

Lockdown's escalation ability is Battle Sentry.

Oh, I see. What difficulty did you base this off of?

Also, do you just press the ability button to hold up the shield, or do you have to hold it down the entire time you're holding up the shield?

Thanks for the answers you've already given, they were very informative.

It's based on normal, no hacks. With hacks and/or higher difficulty, it'll take two charged hits or you'll have to weaken them first.

Press once to activate the shield, then let it absorb hits until it's fully charged (don't have to hold any buttons, just let it charge up). You unleash the energy hit once you press melee. You can save the charged hit by simply pressing the shield button again to store it. Once you're ready to use it, press shield and hit melee.

On Hard, one bolt will not kill a regular soldier?

Yeah, that answers my other question, that's a toggle. Thanks.
