The Allspark has a post of a facebook status that says "Orson" is leaving the Transformers brand.

I'm thinking that the Orson clap gif has anything to do with this?

The Orson Welles clapping gif is a pretty common meme. It's on our front page right now, in fact, to commemorate some obscure, secret event.

Was Archer known as "Orson" online or something?

Ah, that's the scene. I was thinking it had to be Citizen Kane because I couldn't think of another Welles movie with him sporting a moustache like that.

He already climbed up the corporate ladder years ago. His last known job title was "Vice President of Intellectual Property Development". He's no longer with Hasbro at all, or so sources say.

He's not the only one either. Joe Kyde was affected by the recent mass layoff. Whether Aaron departed on his own terms or was sacked the same way Kyde was is currently unknown.

Rik Alvarez is also no longer with Hasbro. And there's rumors that Andy Schmidt's tenure with Hasbro turned out to be rather short as well. Overall, it appears most, if not all of the "old gang" is gone.

If he is leaving the company, it'll be sad to see him go, but I've no doubt that he'll find another amazing position, with a portfolio like his, and bring his talents to bear in a way just as fantastic as what he's done at Hasbro.

I'm sure wherever he goes, he'll do well for himself.

But yeah - at this point, I'm curious to see what the future holds for the brand. It could go anywhere, really.

 

The other site is speculating big-time with this story today too. They actually let Archer go? Did they really think that through? Just how many billions of dollars has this man generated for Hasbro over the years? While I personally haven't been this man's biggest fan over time, he sure seems to know what sells.

Who's Archer gonna get a job with next? Mattel? Lego?
