So, in the last week. My car has broken down - it simply will not turn over, had to get it towed, the fuel pump is shot and it's going to cost a small fortune to fix. My washing machine stopped working - I think it's just a faulty valve - I might be able to fix it my self. and today one of my two PCs - the newer and more powerful one went belly up, won't even try to boot - I get the "dreaded dell blinking amber light". I am PISSED.
Man, I hate when stuff like that hits so close. I know there's never a good time to have a car break down...but it always seems to happen atthe worst possible time. But my neighbors tell me bad things come in threes. Maybe you'll get a breather after this?
man thats rotten luck.... seems like we always get hit the hardest when we're already on the ground... Hope things get better for you!
That sucks. I guess its true what they say - when it rains, it pours. What exactly is wrong with your PC? BTW, what type of car and PC do you have, if you don't mind me asking?
Dodge Stratus Dell PC - it's got the amber light of death, it means the power supply is working but there is a failed component in the PC somewhere.
I had a Dell once. It was my first laptop. Got it for college because it was cheap. The thing had sooooooo many problems, I swore off Dells. They are notoriously bad quality. I know they are a little more pricey - but I'd go with Sony or Toshiba. Those are much higher quality. If you're looking for a new comp that is. Or you could just build your own. As far as the car, never owned anything but Hondas and they've ALWAYS been extremely reliable and high quality. I'd sell that thing for whatever you can get and buy an import. Honda, Toyota, Volvo, Volkswagen, Kia, Hyundai, whatever. ANYTHING but a domestic. If you HAVE to have domestic go with Mazda or Saturn.
I'm an A+ Certified computer technician, the dell was bought off from surplus, I can probably fix it given time and money for parts, it's just aggravating as fuck. As far as the car, I do most of my own work on that too, I bought it at a junk yard and got it running after doing a little work on it. I'm not going to replace the fuel pump myself because it involved dropping the gas tank out... I have owned 4 dodges and put well over 250,000 miles on all of them.
