Once again Michael Bay has outdone himself with yet again another TF summer flick, and this time the Dinobots.
Considering how unlikely Dinosaur transformers would ever make an appearance and Bay's dislike for them, it's quite a visual treat to witness it become a reality.

A new trilogy, but we have the same director and I think he's here to stay. Personally who can top what Bay is capable of doing?

It's hard to imagine someone else doing these movies other than Bay himself. Bay may not be great at telling a story but he sure as hell makes great action.

With all the new visuals we've seen, and the large robot cast it's strange how the budget for this new flick is the lowest of all films.

Well let's see what this new beast can do on June 27.:ev:

Actually I don't want Bay to direct TF5 at all. I wanna see some other director's take on it, then he can come back for the finale.

    Gareth Edwards.

He did a great job with Godzilla, he could make Transformers on a more massive scale before in size and scale...and the destruction.

If Edwards made a Transformers movie, they probably wouldn't show the fighting, it'd be Optimus vs Megatron '07 all over again.

But Godzilla wasn't that good of a Godzilla movie.

Can this please stop being a thing? He said he didn't like them once that I can remember, and it was years ago. For the criticism he takes, his words are treated like scripture around here.

    Guilmero Del Toro

if he can do what he did with Pacific Rim, Transformers would be a dream come true.

i remember him saying he didnt want to use the dinobots because they were goofy or something, might of been cause they seem to far fetch. So he has obviously been able to include them in a way that doesn't seem so far fetched.

Joss Whedon, he is a bit of a hit and miss director, but i admit his directing of Avengers was near perfect.

I can easily imagine someone else. Michael Bay can't do action to save his life, his shots are always to close to the subject, rife with discontinuities, edited together in a whirlwind fashion with no sort of "flow", and often trivializes or outright skips over important visual cues and information. While some of his shots, on an individual basis, provide some visceral thrill... That's not what makes a good scene. Not even a good action beat. It's vital, don't get me wrong. But it's not the whole picture.

Guillermo Del Toro would be an excellent choice. Knows how to work with big action and CGI, and has an unparalleled sense of visual beauty. Roland Emmerich, despite all the flak he takes, has a great eye for visual composition. Do you know how much geometry goes into those shots? The use of perspective lines is masterful. James Cameron, of course, who's already exactly like Michael Bay except talented...

And those are the three best ones off the top of my head. Of course, an unknown with a real passion for the material and the talent to back it up would be the best case scenario.

Where's the miss? He's done three movies, one was an excellent cult classic, the next a critically celebrated summer blockbuster beloved by fans, and the third a low budget, low key Shakespeare adaption.

Unless your talking about his television work... Where he's considered one of the industry's greats.

The CGI in Pacific Rim was soo realistic looking it was freaking amazing. The action in the movie was also good, I would like to see him take it on.

Problem is, if they decided Guilmero, isn't he a director for Legendary Pictures? Would mean Hasbro would have to ditch Paramount, which i doubt they would be happy with.

JJ Abrams, Joss Whedon (though our favorites would die faster than Jazz in 2007), heck, I'd even take one of the Pirates of the Caribbean directors.
